Social Profile:

Manor Hill Tavern occupies the historic Taylor’s Row in Old Ellicott City. Built in the mid-19th Century, this iconic series of buildings initially served the livery trade of the area. Our Head Chef strives to use seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible, including herbs and vegetables from our farm. Our distinctive menu is highlighted by a custom-built brick oven for neopolitan-style pizzas and more. We serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, as well as brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. We feature beers from Manor Hill Brewing, Howard County’s first farm brewery. Manor Hill beers are hand-made on our farm using original and unique recipes. The result is aromatic, hop forward farmhouse style beers.

Brewery-owned restaurant preparing familiar American dishes made with local produce & craft beer.

I knew I would love this restaurant because it is the sister restaurant of Victoria Gastro Pub, which is a long time favorite of mine!

I was not disappointed! The staff and food were both excellent! This time around, we had the daikon & carrot miso soup, the honey old bay chicken wings, the kids cheese pizza, and the black & blue steak sandwich. I highly recommend all of these items! The condiments are homemade, and actally made me like both ketchup and ranch (even though I am weird and usually can’t stand either).

If you like mocktails, I highly recommend the pomegranate MOCKscow mule! It was very ginger forward in the best way. We will definitely be back!

Came here as a group of 11 including 1 child for lunch. We managed to get a table thankfully. They have pizza which you can switch to vegan cheese which is great. I got the pizza (vegan) with mushrooms, broccoli, onions and peppers, it was amazing! Probably the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had! The kids pizza was a good size too. Other in the group had burgers and pizzas, all thoroughly enjoyed. One pizza was forgotten, once we brought it to their attention they quickly got it sorted. Great food, atmosphere and service for reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is located in a quaint location. The restaurant is a no frills and thrills type of restaurant. The tables, booths, and chairs were all clean. The bathrooms were outstandingly clean.

Our waitress was accommodating and friendly.

The Tavern Burger was tasty, not out of this world, but definitely decent. It was put together rather well.

Roasted Fingerling Potatoes rolled around in duck fat and garlic were good.

The Awesome Smash Burger was tasty, too, and was simply decent. It was also well plated, too.

Fresh Cut Fries were great.

Manor Hill Tavern has a good menu with a variety of flavorful dishes to satisfy almost any palate. I had there burger which was really food. The meat had flavor and the burger was well cooked but still tender. The caramelized onion spread and cheese were a great combination so that no other condiments were needed. The side orders of bacon fries and cucumber salad, made the meal a comfort food dish with a hint of healthy eating.

My drink was the prickly pear, a refreshing non-alcoholic drink. And a light orange Creamsicle desert capped a reasonably priced meal.

The place has two outdoor venues that were cool and quiet. The service was good and friendly.

Dishes that I saw on other tables looked equally good to what I had ordered, so I know I will return.

Attended a catered event here held in one of the spaces (before you got to the bar, that half level). Had a really nice experience here and it was my first time. Their tavern burger was really good, excellent pub food with great fries. The older crowd I was with didn’t care for the “spicy” vinaigrette on the house salad, but I thought it was superb – anyone under 45 enjoyed it. The mocktails were also really good and quite creative, something new to try instead of a classic cocktail. The 2 or 3 hostesses that helped cater the event were so attentive and just outstanding service as our event lasted about 4-5 hours (prep to finish).

I think our crowd was the “problem” …aka 50 cackling hens, but it got loud quickly – like really loud. But I don’t see that as the tavern’s fault or problem to fix. The location is perfectly walkable from Lot D – Free Parking, and easy to do a quick drop-off for anyone that can’t make it up hills.

I would highly recommend this space to anyone, and a kudos to the Manor Hill Tavern for hosting our event in such a great location.

The food was awful. My chicken was dry, the pizza crust was doughy, and even the brownie was warm temperature and dry. Our waitress Cameron was amazing though! She would be the only reason we’d cone back to this place and give it a second chance.

Such a nice brunch. I had the smashed avocado toast with smoked salmon and my boyfriend had The Sinatra pizza. He also had a beer while I had a cocktail.

Smashed avocado toast with smoked salmon.
Very nice sandwich. I like that it was on challah bread. A few too many pickled onions for me but they added a nice sweetness to the overall taste.

The waitress joked that this pizza would change his life and he agreed! He said it was one of the best pizzas. There was some spice on it, he couldn’t pinpoint what it was, that elevated the taste to another level. I don’t eat meat but he cut me a small piece without sausage and it was very good!

Our drinks were excellent. Service was great, prompt, jovial, and not overbearing. We had a great brunch.

We had burgers in the past but their super soft buns liquified before we could finish them. We ordered pizzas this time and they were delicious. The ‘frank sinatra’ had sausage and grilled onions. The crust was aged overnight and was quite tasty. The servers were wonderful. On the next visit we had a pork panini. It was dressed with aioli and arugula and was on a great french bread bun. The burger didn’t fall apart the second time, maybe because the diner attacked it with gusto. I had a scrumptious NZ IPA. Great service the 2nd go around too.

Every Tuesday at 5:30pm, a group of runners leaves from here and runs out the Trolley Trail and back to the Tavern. If you’re one of them, you get a free beer upon your return. Everyone goes their own pace and it’s on the honor system that you did the run. Amy leads the group and is very friendly and welcoming. She remembers our names and our usual beer selection. The atmosphere and food is very good too. Everyone is very nice. I look forward to it whenever I can make it, and it’s an encouragement to keep running.
