Simply the best restaurant in SF, period. In every way. If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, go. I would take all the reservations I can get my hands on

This is among the best fine dining experiences of my life. This is a better meal than most one star Michelins and even some two and three stars. The way Chef Ge approaches food reminds me of Chef Jiro.

Chef Ge and his team re-imagines traditional Shanghainese cuisine with Japanese elements. If you are lucky enough to be able to snag a reservation, please go. There are only 8 seats per seating because Chef Ge says that’s the maximum number of seats he can serve at a time while maintaining the consistency.

If this place doesn’t get a Michelin star in the near future, you’ll know it’s rigged.

This is by far the most honest, authentic, and talented pair of chefs making elevated Chinese food in the bay right now, if not the country.

They take so much care in souring ingredients respectful to Chinese culture and history, and bringing a high quality of craft to the flavor profile and pairings in each and every dish.

You can tell that each dish has meaning for the chefs backgrounds, and that they really care about making you feel like family while you dine there.

**A Fusion Experience Led by Chef Ge’s Expertise**

Chef Ge, with his background working in Japan, brings a unique perspective to Shanghainese fine dining, seamlessly blending Japanese precision with Chinese boldness. His mastery of Japanese techniques is evident in the refined presentation and delicate balance of flavors in each dish, from perfectly seared seafood to meticulously plated vegetable courses.

Chef Ge’s time in Japan has clearly influenced his approach, adding subtle umami notes and an emphasis on seasonal ingredients to the traditional richness of Shanghainese cuisine. The result is a harmonious fusion that elevates both culinary traditions, creating an unforgettable dining experience for those seeking innovation and elegance in every bite.
