The atmosphere is relaxed but still lively, making it a great spot for just about anything—casual lunch, sunset dinner, or hanging out with friends for a few drinks. There’s always a good energy in the air, and the view of boats coming and going just adds to the experience. It’s the kind of place where you sit down and lose track of time.
The food was excellent and definitely exceeded expectations. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, with generous portions that leave you satisfied but not stuffed. You can tell they put real thought into the menu, and it’s perfect for lake dining—comfort food done right with plenty of flavor. The drinks were also spot on, refreshing and well-made, and they pair perfectly with the waterfront setting.
Service deserves a shout-out too. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely upbeat, which makes a huge difference. They checked in at the right times, made good recommendations, and never made us feel rushed. It felt like they actually wanted us there, not just turning tables.
Overall, Eddie’s on Lake Norman is a must-visit if you’re in the area. Great food, great service, incredible views, and a fun, relaxed vibe that keeps you coming back. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the lake, this place is absolutely worth a stop—and probably more than one.
The menu has something for everyone, from fresh seafood and steaks to great salads and sandwiches, and everything is prepared with quality and flavor in mind. Sitting out on the patio with the lake as your backdrop is truly unmatched.
If you’re looking for a place that combines good food, good vibes, and beautiful views, Eddie’s is definitely worth the visit.
We started with the Oyster Casino, but this didn’t live up to expectations. Instead of the usual garlic, bacon, and breadcrumbs, it was mostly just a chunk of stuffing. It wasn’t broiled long enough. When serving clam casino, it would be piping hot from the broiler. Arriving at the table, the stuffing was barely warmed, and the shells were cold. The bread that came with it was also soggy — it seemed like it hadn’t finished baking.
Not worth the price, and I’d skip this dish. (Honestly, I should have just sent it back to the kitchen)
The oysters on the half shell were hit or miss. Some were great, while others were a bit dry. It seemed like they weren’t shucked properly. (see picture)
I wasn’t a fan of the linguine with clam sauce either. It was just pasta, steamed clams, and the broth from the clams — not the usual mix of garlic, olive oil, and chopped clams. Very uninspired. It felt like the kitchen was rushing to get the food out. And again, the same underbaked bread made an appearance.
The orecchiette, on the other hand, was fantastic. It was a hearty dish with beef tips, a rich gorgonzola cream sauce, and lots of mushrooms. Definitely worth the price.
All in all, it was a nice experience, but I think the kitchen could use a little more attention to detail.
First of all, the lake view. It’s not just a lake; it’s the kind of lake that makes you pause mid-bite and go, “Wow, this is fancy.” And there was live music playing too. I half expected someone to hand me a cocktail on a silver tray while a jazz band serenaded my shrimp.
Now, the food. Ohhhh, the food. I got the steamed shrimp, and honestly, it was love at first bite. Flavor? Check
Freshness? Check
Did I consider smuggling some home? Check
(don’t judge me). My friend tried something else from the menu, and he was just as happy, which is huge because this menu has options for basically everyone, seafood lovers, picky eaters, people who “accidentally” order fries with everything… you get it.
The prices are just a little high, but they are 100% reasonable for what you’re getting.
The atmosphere deserves its own shoutout. Eddie’s on the Lake is a must-visit. if Eddie’s isn’t on your radar, put it there. Your taste buds, and your inner foodie will thank you.
