Their breakfast rice soup with fish is exactly what I needed when I was feeling a little under the weather and had a sore throat… I actually keep thinking about it, so sore throat or not, this is a great restaurant with great .
Lots of local Thai in there so you know it’s legit.
My one go to dish is the noodle with crab meat.
I also tend to come here for breakfast as well. The rice porridge and fried donut is pretty good. $9 for pork porridge and $1.50 for the (2) Chinese donuts with condensed milk.
Prices seem to have gone up over the years. It is still the local favorite I remember. The hainan rice was less than $10 for the longest time, now it is $14.
Drop in for some congee for a classic comfort Thai breakfast. If you come early enough you’ll be lucky to grab some ปาท่องโก๋ (fried donuts) to have with condensed milk, homemade warm soy milk, or just as a yummy side for your congee.
Their other dishes also tend towards breakfast/lunch foods and are just as authentic and simple. The folks are also always so welcoming and friendly. This is simply the spot for nice relaxed comfort Thai food!
Have eaten for a couple decades in Thai Town but only went to Siam Sunset a few years ago. This was the first place I’ve ever eaten pad kra pao & it has become my favorite Thai dish! And Siam easily makes it the best!
Only knock is there’s no on site parking, but street parking is usually not too tough depending on the day. Still it’s worth the walk.
Would give it six stars if it were possible.
Note: cash only
The Tom yum, congee, and soy milk were so good.
Service could use some work though.
