Just don’t. Don’t.

Wow. This place changed management and it’s really bad.

I asked for a hot fudge sundae. I asked if it was hot fudge or chocolate sauce. I was told hot fudge. It was not.

It was some kind of rubbery, cold and dark substance with cardboard flavored whipped cream. I had to return it. The sundae was NOT worth $9.

The atmosphere is depressing and crowded with boxes. They removed the tables and trash can from outside.

You will have a MUCH better time and product at Whitts.

Finally, I do not blame the teenager that waited on us.

Over $10 for a brownie sundae. It barely had any ice cream in it. The brownie was definitely not homemade & not warm. It had a crunchy exterior & not in a good way. Whipped cream had an oily under taste to it. Cherries were nasty & tasted like they were going bad.

Me, my dad and another guy that works with us while in the work truck to hopefully use the bathroom and get some ice cream. We couldn’t use the restroom because it was blocked off so we just went on and ordered anyway. My dad got a vanilla milkshake that was almost pure milk and not good at all. Not to mention a 16oz shake was $8. I ordered a hot fudge sundae and the so called hot fudge was literally chewy he said did I want whipped cream and I said yes so he pulled out a bowl that had liquid something and scooped on it with a spoon ‍♀️ and charged me $8.49 for that and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. I had to literally throw out all the “fudge” it was so gross but tried to eat the ice cream at least and peanuts so I didn’t waste all my money. Needless to say I will not be going back there again for sure. WTH

Cute little place. Homemade ice-cream was very special. The mango was very rich, and the pink lemonade sorbet was fantastic. Waffle bowl was fresh. My wife commented the cotton candy was great without tasting like pure sugar. Also Jim was very kind, friendly and helpful. Would recommend. Also the prices were very fair.

Very cluttered inside, do not recommend mint ice-cream. It’s like eating frozen toothpaste. My spouse had the waffle bowl with butter pecan and that was really good. The cashier was very polite.

Wow. I really thought my experiences here were isolated, but I see many reviews say the same thing.
1. Ridiculously small portions for the price and freezer burn. This is not a company-wide thing. The Elon location has generous servings and no freezer burn. Regardless, my special needs 9 year old really wanted her favorite flavor that I can’t readily find in a grocery store.
2. The store does not honor their posted hours. This is not the first time I have showed up and they were closed during business hours. So I sent an email to the address posted on the website:

I came in this evening at 7:33pm after verifying the hours online. When I arrived, the front door was bolted. I checked the hours on the door, and it said 8pm. I knocked, and the girl behind the counter said she was closed. I said it’s not 8 pm yet. She stared at me. I said it’s only 7:33pm. She shrugged and said we’re closed. She wouldn’t even come to the door to speak. I had a minimum of a $50 to-go order to place for 8 children and 3 adults. That sale went to Whit’s tonight. So unprofessional and agitating. Especially having to explain to my 9-year-old autistic daughter that she couldn’t have her favorite flavor ice cream that I promised her (the chocolate amaretto cherry one).

Someone replied back within the hour:
We are sorry to hear about your recent Experience at our graham Location . We will definitely look into this and make sure each Employee follows the posted hours .
Again apologise to you and your family members for the inconvenience.
Thank you for providing the information .

JP, it sounds like you are heading a quickly sinking ship. Congratulations on your ability to disappoint children and adults alike.

Unfortunately i had to update my review 5/22/24…
Used to love this place. I have come here for years. It *was* the best. But it is under new management or something, and the service and amount of ice cream is pitiful. You pay a kinda high price, but it used to be worth it and they would load up whatever cup you paid for. Now, they give pitiful little scoops, and it is no longer worth it at all. I won’t be back. I’m very sad, because I used to love this place, but my last 2 visits have been extremely disappointing and I will not be back. Its just not the same.

Previous review when it used to be good:
Smitty’s has the best ice cream! A pretty decent variety of flavors to choose from. I have never been disappointed in the quality of ice cream or the service!

First time, and it will be our last! After many years of driving by, we decided to give it a try, and the total experience was a mess… Including this place! The fellow at the counter could not understand us, much less did not even know what he had in the cooler. $15 for $8 worth of lacking flavor ice cream. The place is a dirty, and I’m assuming this has not been the norm over the years. I bet it goes bye-bye or to new owners soon.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! After a long wait I was served this freezer burnt ice cream that had a weird taste. To add insult to injury I tried to use a coupon from my Attraction coupon book and was told that it couldn’t be accepted b/c they were under new management . That’s cool you won’t get another dollar from me. Good Luck!

Well, it’s sad to say but we’re completely done with Smitty’s in Graham. I don’t know what’s happened, if it’s new management or what, but before this we were already having trouble on them honoring their POSTED business hours, and for kids promised a treat that’s a pretty tough disappointment. Luckily Burlington Smitty’s honors their posted business hours, so they have saved us a few timss. Last time we pulled up during posted hours and the door was locked and the woman inside made eye contact with my 11 year old daughter, ignored her, and walked into the back, shaking her head. It was extremely rude. But this time we caught them when they were open, and paid $20 for a pitiful size, crunchy, freezer burnt, two scoop cone of vanilla, in a stale cake cone that was inedible, and another pitiful size of two scoops in a waffle cone with three different toppings. You couldn’t even see the ice cream over the FRONT of the waffle cone, where it is lowest, and of course the cone with the vanilla was empty. So they over charged us for low quality, pitiful quantity and we are never making that mistake again. Shut them down, they are cheating people, and having the audacity to be rude on top of serving sub par product. No point in them being open at all. Waste of space in our beloved downtown Graham.
