I recently visited Pho 79 with my wife and sister-in-law, and unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable.

When we arrived, we stood at the entrance for about five minutes before anyone acknowledged us. An older lady eventually seated us, but she barely spoke and didn’t seem particularly welcoming.

For appetizers, we ordered the spicy wings and shrimp mini egg rolls, which turned out to be the best part of our visit. Both were flavorful and well-prepared, which initially gave us hope for the rest of our meal.

My wife ordered the Pho Hue, my sister-in-law had the Pho Combo, and I chose the Chicken Noodle Salad with Shrimp—a dish I’ve had at many other restaurants. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst version I’ve ever had. The chicken and shrimp were severely overcooked, with the chicken pieces sticking together and the shrimp resembling rubber. To make matters worse, I only received four shrimp, and they charged me $3.50 for them—an amount far smaller than what I’ve received at other restaurants for the same dish.

My wife and sister-in-law were also disappointed with their pho, both finding it bland and lacking in flavor.

A gentleman later came by to ask how the food was, and when I told him it was horrible, he apologized but made no effort to fix the situation—no offer to adjust the bill or even ask how they could make things right. At the very least, I would have appreciated a partial discount on my meal, but that didn’t happen.

Between the lackluster customer service and the poor quality of the food, I can confidently say that I won’t be returning to Pho 79.

The banh mi had the most perfect bread, although I wish it had pickled daikon radish. The portion sizes are very generous. The rice was a bit too soft / overcooked. I will be definitely coming back to try the pho, which made the whole restaurant smell amazing. I also liked the chill lo-fi music that was not too loud

Stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to the airport back home. Got busy quickly but service was great, orders were fast, and the pho was some of the best I’ve had in a long time.

My first time here. My sister and mom love this place!
They suggested the #54 vegetarian egg roll noodle salad. The sauce/dressing you put on top is delicious. They tell me they cannot find any other place that makes a sauce/dressing that compares!
There was plenty of food. The eggrolls were quite large and done to crispy perfection.
We went on a Tuesday night, seated immediately and waited on immediately. Not a large place, but plenty of tables to sit at. And was very clean. The service was very attentive, price is reasonable and food very good.
Highly recommend this place. As you can see from the great reviews! I’m sure more delicious dishes I need to investigate!

My favorite neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant for 10+ years. Food is fresh, environment clean, all the staples well made. I love their pho broth and my husband loves the vegan mock duck bun salad because it has a lot of veggies and not too heavy on the noodles. This place is our go-to for Vietnamese for lunch or dinner. Thank you to the hardworking family that owns and runs this place. You guys are the best and we feel lucky to have you in our neighborhood!

Very tasty! Best pho I’ve had, I was so busy scarfing it down I didn’t even use the lime and basil. Were also very accomodating of a peanut allergy at our table 🙂

The pho was decent, beef was chewy I had to spit out most of it. Brisket was better. I got a pick up order and realized there was no siracha sauce. When I went back inside to ask for some the older lady denied handing me any saying they’re in the bag… Maybe listen to the customer before assuming they didn’t check. Just had pho with hoison sauce so it wasn’t as enjoyable.

CRave-olicious!

A comfortable setting and welcoming. Service with a smile and efficient. The food is at your face before you can finish ordering.

Wings-crispy, full flavored and succulent!
Shrimp rolls-crispy and yet soft and the sauce you can bathe in.
Spring rolls-the best I’ve had in any pho shop!
#15 bowl of spicy glory! Lean beef, both done and fatty flank, tendon so soft and buttery, meatballs. Oh my Damn! Oh my Damn!

Quang’s used to be my go to for an amazing bowl but this place is now going to be my SPOT!

Get over here and experience what I just did and walk out just as happy or even happier with the decision you have made.
