I love Monk’s food, mainly because of the oysters. The Oysters Monkafeller are delicious! The service is spotty though – sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s horrible. The atmosphere is alright…it’s just a lil’ hang out, nothing fancy. Because of the food, I always go back. I gotta say though, I haven’t been back in a while, because last time the service was so bad.

We brought visitors from Canada here. It was a fun night. Our server RANDY was very attentive and chatty which made the experience much more enjoyable.We got two dozen raw New Orleans oysters and they were huge and delicious. Also two pounds of mussels, two peel and eat shrimp plus monk bread. We were stuffed. The only complain was from the ladies wanted some kind of salad or vegetable. Prices were right. Definitely going to be one of our regular places. Ask for Randy from Horseheads!

The environment is casual and the food is EXCELLENT.

Monk’s Steamer Bar is great seafood, great service, and great drink selection. I’m from Maryland and I can guarantee they do the shrimp properly with Old Bay Seasoning. In addition they have a southern classic, crawfish and also have mussels that are wonderful. This place has an outside patio with seats as well as seats inside and a bar. Great atmosphere to come and eat or just to drink. I highly recommend this place to any seafood lover who enjoys great service. At nighttime it becomes more lively.

A great local bar for beers and appetizers although you can fill up quickly on the apps. Outside and indoor seating with TVs to watch a game. Kids allowed to sit outside but not indoors. We love the variety of bottled and draft beers. Get the dozen monkefellas and top it with cocktail sauce, hot sauce, horseradish and/or a squirt of lemon juice. We also like the peel and eat shrimp. A must try!

Probably the worst crawfish I’ve ever had. Owner was so rude and obnoxious that two of his employees apologized for his behavior. Bad food with a bad attitude.
