Starting with the reason you’re probably going here, the coffee. I got a peanut butter latte, and my girlfriend got one of their winter seasonal choices in the ginger bread latte. both served hot. The PB was very smooth and lightly sweet, but the ginger bread one in my opinion takes home the trophy this time.
As for lunch we did their sandwich/wrap and a salad combo, which as far as I am concerned is the best deal I’ve ever seen, Panera eat your heart out. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with a side caesar salad, and my girlfriend got the fig & brie sandwich, with a side peach and avocado salad. The buffalo wrap was nice and light with grilled chicken and a buffalo sauce that seemed almost more like a vinaigrette and the caesar was about as classic as it gets. The fig and brie was an unexpected plus for me and eats almost like a caprese sandwich, while the peach and avocado salad was super fresh, fruit in salad doesn’t quite do it for me personally, so we split the trophy for our lunches.
Parking is pretty ample with spots both in the front and the back of the attached lot, but be careful when you’re pulling up the first time, you’re bound to miss it, I know I almost did!
My light roast coffee was enjoyable – tasted freshly brewed and had good body and depth of flavor for a light roast.
My maple bacon avocado toast looked appealing but the bread was very under-toasted feeling like doughy white bread. The avocados were ripe and green, and bacon was balanced with crispness and chewiness with a sweet maple syrup drizzle.
I got a cup of hot chocolate to go (loved that they use whole milk instead of water!). When I got home, the whipped cream had melted, revealing the cup was only about 2/3 full. My wife was a little disappointed and would have preferred more hot chocolate with less room for the whipped cream.
These are not deal killers for me as they are easily remedied. I’d return to try it again. Great team, atmosphere and coffee. They just need to make some adjustments to the food systems.
The classic avocado toast was delicious and presented well. Topped with lightly dressed mixed greens, additional sliced avocado, and pickled red onions. With the added over easy egg, it was a perfect combo.
We will definitely be back. Try it if you haven’t.
It does. And then some.
This isn’t just another coffee stop. It’s a café in the true sense of the word: a place with gravity. You walk in and you want to stay. The Port Jeff space is genuinely beautiful… warm light, thoughtful design, room to breathe… but it’s not “decor.” It feels lived-in, intentional, and human. Like it was built for conversations not eat and get out.
And that comes back to Tim and Dre. These aren’t owners who slap their name on the sign and disappear. You can feel how dedicated they are… in the way the place run and all the details. But most importantly in the care behind the food and drink. It has soul and that’s not an accident.
The shroom latte is the real deal… earthy, smooth, and oddly comforting. Not a trend-chasing gimmick. And the bacon, egg, and cheese is exactly what you want it to be: hot, salty, satisfying, made by someone who understands that simple food done right is a small kind of magic.
Sayville is my neighborhood spot. Port Jefferson is my “I’ll gladly drive for this” spot. That’s the highest compliment I can give.
