Can’t wait to go back with my wife.
I made a booking with Cavistons for a group of eight work colleagues, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
The staff were exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and highly professional. They managed our large group with ease, ensuring everyone felt looked after throughout the evening.
The fixed menu for a group offered a fantastic variety of choices across starters and mains, which worked perfectly for our group with mixed tastes. Every dish was well presented, the fish was cooked to perfection and steaks were tender and full of flavour.
For the quality of the food and the level of service, the evening was excellent value for money and delivered on every level—superb food, outstanding staff, and great value.

An absolutely fantastic seafood restaurant from start to finish, everything was spot on. The menu is full of fresh, beautifully presented dishes, and every plate tastes like it was made with real care. The mocktail selection was a pleasant surprise too. Creative, refreshing, and just as impressive as any cocktail list.

The décor is stunning: elegant without feeling stuffy, with the perfect balance of comfort and style. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating a warm, welcoming space.

The staff were wonderful. They’re friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Finding a place that gets every detail right doesn’t happen often but this one absolutely does. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great seafood, great service, and a genuinely lovely dining experience.

My husband and I would be a regular to Cavistons but went on New Years Eve before the fireworks, what a great way to end the year. The food was excellent as always, service was great and really lovely atmosphere. Always a delicious treat

Great food and a brilliantly buzzy restaurant downstairs. Upstairs has a nice view but we were surprised to be allocated a table between the only other tables in a mostly empty room. The manger was kind enough to find us a table downstairs where all the atmosphere is. Food is exceptionally good.

We celebrated my friend’s birthday at a place with a lovely atmosphere! We couldn’t get a sea-view table, but we got a beautiful one with sunshine instead. ☀️ The food was gorgeous, and since we went for lunch, it wasn’t too crowded upstairs. The waiter was very friendly!

A bit out of the way on the south side of the city, but this place is worth the trip. It’s a combination of fishmonger, grocer, and restaurant—an unusual combo, but it works really well.

We had crab claws and duck liver to start, followed by a bone-in turbot steak that was simply prepared and cooked just right. Finished with a chocolate-orange mousse that wasn’t too heavy, just a nice way to end the meal.

The place has a relaxed vibe, friendly service, and it was nice to catch the sunset around 9pm after dinner (during summer months).

First time back here since they moved a few doors away from the old location. We ordered a few things to share and they are all tasty beautiful dishes in generous portion. It’s rare that I ended up loving everything on the table! Highly recommend

Amazing food, fresh out of the farm quality and great presentation as well.
It will be lovely if nicer non alcoholic wine varieties can be served in the future!

I recently revisited this restaurant after about two years, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how much things have improved under the new management. During my last visit, I remember feeling let down by the service and the uneven quality of the food. This time, however, everything was completely different.
The staff were genuinely welcoming and attentive without being intrusive, and the food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s much more care put into every detail now, from the menu choices to the cleanliness of the dining area. Even the atmosphere feels brighter and more inviting.
It’s wonderful to see a place turn itself around so completely. I’ll definitely be coming back soon and recommending it to friends.
