The food was exceptional, especially the seafood. The tiger prawns were MASSIVE — genuinely some of the biggest prawns we’ve ever seen, let alone eaten. They were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and without doubt the best prawns we had in India. That’s saying something, especially as we truly believed Kerala couldn’t be beaten when it came to seafood.
Service was attentive and efficient without being overbearing, and the prices were surprisingly good for the quality and portion sizes. One bit of advice: order your starters before committing to mains — the portions are generous and we definitely over-ordered because everything sounded too good to miss (no regrets, just very full ).
Overall, Mahesh Lunch Lounge completely lived up to the hype and then some. Incredible food, huge portions, great service, and excellent value. If you’re debating where to eat — go here.

Even then comparing to similar fish oriented places like Trishna, this doesnt compare on any measure. The fish Rawls tikia was no where as good in tenderness or taste. The ghassi was too oily. The place more cramped. All this could be ok if the fish was amazing, which it was not. The tikka has skin on one side which didn’t appeal to me.
Pricing was similar to Trishna. So this is the last time I ever visit. Prefer to keep old memories intact.
only complaint was that I would have preferred a pinch of salt but there was no salt shakers on the table!
Will visit again on my next trip to try out the items i could not this time around.
We had crab, chicken ghee roast, and a paneer dish, which was amongst the best we had in India during our three week tour
The place itself has a nice ambience, is clean and hygienic, and the overall quality of food is clearly well maintained. The staff are very friendly, polite, and attentive, which adds positively to the experience.
While the prices are on the higher side, the quality, hygiene, and taste justify the cost. A good place for quality food and a relaxed dining experience—definitely worth a visit. Only issue is Parking. Better to go in a taxi.
The place is cozy.
Service is good. Time limits for service.
Little costly.
Pomfret was so smooth and buttery. An entirely unique texture and taste.
The tiger prawns with garlic were a perfect combination.
. The Bombay duck fry and pomfret fry was fresh and tasty, the fish ghassi was delicious. Service was excellent, and the suggested payasam was the perfect way to finish our meal. Highly recommended!
