The Aspen House felt cozy and intimate with various seating areas. The decor was nice.
Our server Bugh (I apologize if I spelled it incorrectly). He was very professional, friendly and courteous while explaining the Chef specials for the evening.
Appetizer: Crab Ragoon (CR). okay I will say these were the best I ever had; most times when I’ve ordered them the filling lacked good flavor and a small amount. Well not these, you can tell they were made fresh, and fried nicely (not too hard).
If you like CR, then you must try them while dining at Aspen.
We ordered the Lemon butter and pan seared Salmon with green beans, mashed potatoes, house salad and mushrooms/onions (cooked perfectly). We were also presented with a dessert tray with several options (carrot cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake, etc.). I ordered the chocolate cake, it was Yummy, chocolate on chocolate (look at my picture and you will see what I mean). You will love it chocolate lovers!!
Everything tasted wonderfully, and priced reasonably for fine dining.
We enjoyed our meal and would come back again if in Rawlings again. Thanks
Go upstairs and feel the home- like touches! Each room has an amazing feel. The staff have been great and attentive as well. We’ll worth the money!
Main course was a ribeye, cooked to perfection, excellent taste, wife had fettuccini with chicken, generous portion and wonderful taste, her words.
Service was unbelievable
I am not kidding, where ever you live, the drive to Rawlins to experience this amazing restaurant is worth it.
We were just driving through Rawlins, Wyoming when we spotted a sign that boldly claimed “Best Steak in Wyoming.” Naturally, we were up for the challenge — and let me just say… Aspen House did not disappoint.
Chef Lena — wow. The steak was absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, tender, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. (Also, the portion was HUGE… definitely one to share.)
We got seated in the sweetest little private room — cozy and quiet with a chandelier overhead, deep blue curtains, and a painting that made it feel like we were dining in a friend’s home rather than a restaurant.
Our server, Amber, was soft-spoken and kind — the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely cared for without being over the top.
This place was such a pleasant surprise — totally unexpected and exactly what we didn’t know we needed that evening. If you ever find yourself in Rawlins, keep an eye out for that sign. It just might lead you somewhere special.
For my entree went with the 14 oz ribeye with Yukon gold potatoes and a side salad. Steak was properly cooked to my specifications and tasted like a ribeye with the right amount of juices and char on the outside. Potatoes were a nice compliment to the steak as well. My guest had the blue cheese steak burger and he said this sandwich had everything from a taste perspective. Was tremendously impressed
The waiter was also very attentive and helpful in this unique environment. Prices comparable on steaks to larger cities and slightly under their light or lunch menus. Easy access to the building however since they serve meals on two floors would be tough for a handicapped person making it to the second floor and a must to be served on the 1st. The site does have bar service including wine but for tonight’s dinner we did pass. Pleasant surprise and highly recommend you stop by Aspen for lunch or dinner!
