The Aspen House is a must stop, if you want finding dining in Rawlings; without having a business casual dress code. They allow you to come as you are (sneakers, sweatshirt was just fine.

The Aspen House felt cozy and intimate with various seating areas. The decor was nice.

Our server Bugh (I apologize if I spelled it incorrectly). He was very professional, friendly and courteous while explaining the Chef specials for the evening.

Appetizer: Crab Ragoon (CR). okay I will say these were the best I ever had; most times when I’ve ordered them the filling lacked good flavor and a small amount. Well not these, you can tell they were made fresh, and fried nicely (not too hard).
If you like CR, then you must try them while dining at Aspen.

We ordered the Lemon butter and pan seared Salmon with green beans, mashed potatoes, house salad and mushrooms/onions (cooked perfectly). We were also presented with a dessert tray with several options (carrot cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake, etc.). I ordered the chocolate cake, it was Yummy, chocolate on chocolate (look at my picture and you will see what I mean). You will love it chocolate lovers!!

Everything tasted wonderfully, and priced reasonably for fine dining.

We enjoyed our meal and would come back again if in Rawlings again. Thanks

My husband and I visited Aspen House while staying overnight in Rawlins on our way to Oregon from Iowa. What a beautiful little gem in a quaint little town! The place is set up with so many private little dining areas with gorgeous chandeliers and great decor. From the first step in the door, Aspen House has that upscale feel. The servers are dressed in all black, but they welcome you as you are, knowing that many of their guests are travelers passing through. Our server was friendly and provided outstanding service. We ordered the seafood fettuccine and the chicken fettuccine. I had the cream of broccoli soup which was delicious. The food portions were more than enough with lots of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. We both got dessert to go (pumpkin cheesecake and a carrot cake slice). We will definitely be stopping in again the next time we pass through Rawlins.

Go upstairs and feel the home- like touches! Each room has an amazing feel. The staff have been great and attentive as well. We’ll worth the money!

If you happen to pass trough Rawlins and are looking for a nice steak: Check out the Aspen House. We had a very nice dinner here: Beef Medaillons & New York Steak – grilled to perfection! The service is very nice! The whole place was run by only two servers – they made an amazing job! Always with a smile, very friendly, patient! Good job!

I apologize for the long post, but this one deserves the love.

We were just driving through Rawlins, Wyoming when we spotted a sign that boldly claimed “Best Steak in Wyoming.” Naturally, we were up for the challenge — and let me just say… Aspen House did not disappoint.

‍ Chef Lena — wow. The steak was absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, tender, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. (Also, the portion was HUGE… definitely one to share.)

We got seated in the sweetest little private room — cozy and quiet with a chandelier overhead, deep blue curtains, and a painting that made it feel like we were dining in a friend’s home rather than a restaurant.

Our server, Amber, was soft-spoken and kind — the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely cared for without being over the top.

This place was such a pleasant surprise — totally unexpected and exactly what we didn’t know we needed that evening. If you ever find yourself in Rawlins, keep an eye out for that sign. It just might lead you somewhere special.

After so many mediocre small town meals on our road trip, this place was a very pleasant surprise. We had good food, good service and above average steaks. We stopped for the night and searched for a place to eat on a Wednesday evening. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived. The atmosphere is interesting. This is a house transformed into a restaurant so you’re seated in rooms of the house. There were only 2 tables in our room and it felt a little encroaching on the other diners. The place has a slightly elevated feel to it but people were dressed various ways I.e., shorts and tennis shoes to nice pants and shirts; anything goes here. The service was good. They are trying real hard but are not quite there yet. The food and drinks were very tasty. We had cocktails to start and they were very generous and well priced. We brought a bottle of wine to drink with our dinner. They charged a $20 corkage fee which is pretty fair. We had the ribeye and the fillet steaks; they were cooked perfectly and tasted awesome. Overall it was a very nice experience and if we drive through again we will return.

I am from Ohio and I make it a point to stop here to have the lobster ravioli with Alfredo sauce and the taste is awesome. They are the only restaurant that I have found that has made it perfectly to the point you want to lick the bowl clean. I highly recommend stopping here to eat.

Easily best food in rawlins! I’ve only tried the steak and halibut, but I have no doubt everything they serve is worthy. It’s priced as a high end restraunt and doesn’t disappoint. I put 3 stars on the atmosphere only because it’s not my preferred restraunt style though I can admit it is an interesting concept. An old historical style house converted into a restraunt. Also alcohol prices are quite high so in summation food yes! Alcohol.. not worth it.

Was given a great recommendation by our hotel clerk when in Rawlins when looking for a nice place to eat. Aspen House was a big hit. Loaded in a home setting next to a church and the police station I was curious on how this would work but they pulled it off with flying colors. Decor is from the 1930s from the wood to the crystal. White table cloths made it very elegant. Had chicken dumplings as an appetizer and they were tasty with a side of their spicy sauce
For my entree went with the 14 oz ribeye with Yukon gold potatoes and a side salad. Steak was properly cooked to my specifications and tasted like a ribeye with the right amount of juices and char on the outside. Potatoes were a nice compliment to the steak as well. My guest had the blue cheese steak burger and he said this sandwich had everything from a taste perspective. Was tremendously impressed
The waiter was also very attentive and helpful in this unique environment. Prices comparable on steaks to larger cities and slightly under their light or lunch menus. Easy access to the building however since they serve meals on two floors would be tough for a handicapped person making it to the second floor and a must to be served on the 1st. The site does have bar service including wine but for tonight’s dinner we did pass. Pleasant surprise and highly recommend you stop by Aspen for lunch or dinner!
