Social Profile:

Street-market soul. Royal-kitchen discipline. Saffron is the Indian restaurant in San Carlos where spices roast at dawn, tandoor breads land blister-hot, and curries simmer low until they settle into memory. This is Indian food that feels personal, not processed, with butter chicken, daal makhani, and charcoal-kissed naan made the long way. Come for a weeknight Indian dinner, a spontaneous date night, or to share home-level flavor with visiting family. Dine in, pick up, or send catering to your table. Locals say this is where Indian food finally feels right in San Carlos. Come taste India, not a translation.

Restaurant with a seasonal take on Northern Indian fare presented in chic, sophisticated surrounds.

Delicious, high-quality Indian food that preserves the authentic flavors of North Indian cuisine without overwhelming heat. The dishes are well balanced and thoughtfully prepared.

I tried the brunch thali which was generous, good variety of dishes, and very filling. The chaat starters were excellent, and the biryani is a must-order! deeply flavorful and aromatic. Haven’t tasted such a delicious biryani in a long time. Easily one of the better-quality Indian restaurants in this area.

The ambiance is clean, spacious, and comfortable, with outdoor seating available. Service is polite and friendly. Overall, very good value for money.

Cozy ambience, serving staff is very polite and checked in our meal often. Situated right by the San Carlos, parking in front of the restaurant might be difficult but there’s enough parking around the block.

Coming to food – food is uniquely presented. Chaat was beautifully presented on a papad with microgreens and butterfly cutout, but chana jor garam in the chaat was a little soggy. Latte art on the malai kofta was great, and it tasted very rich. Kulfi also tasted good!

great food, though definitely on the expensive side (we came here for team lunch). Lots of veg options (except for the biryani, which is… unfortunate), the lamb IS HALAL (!), That roomali roti was huge and so tasty with everything, and my favorite  gravy would probably be the one that came with the koftas! We had kulfi for desert, which was delicious. I apologize for my highly unaesthetic photos – it was so funny trying to get these pics in front of my poor unsuspecting coworkers.

Host allowed us to choose our table. First positive thing .

Waiter who took our order was so nice and cool.

Food was delicious. And presentation was amazing.

Small but cozy restaurant we came all the way from North bay and it didn’t disappoint us at all.

Closest best Indian restaurant to Half bay moon ..

I loved my dining experience at Saffron. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by Anna. The Chef Romeo was super helpful in helping us decide what to order. He embodied the service attitude. We might just go back for the service and Romeo. The ambiance was beautiful. We’d have preferred to sit outside if it was a little warmer. We ended up getting the sizzling black pepper chicken, garlic naan, lamb kosha, rajasthani chat, gulab jamun.

While they all were delectable, my favourites were the sizzling chicken and the gulab jamun. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We ordered black pepper chicken tikka and lahsooni saag paneer with a tandoori roti. Great flavors – authentic taste of Delhi . They have wine and beer but not really cocktails. Rose flavor kulfi is a nice dessert.

We ordered from their weekend lunch menu which had a decent set of vegetarian options. The food was not excessively oily nor was it made with excessive masalas which was a big win for us. The ingridients were fresh and the over all dish was delicious. Be mindful of their Chai, they say it’s for one but in my opinion it’s sufficient to serve 3

The food is amazing here especially their rajasthani chaat and home made paneer! We had ordered a few mocktails and they were good too. Staff is extremely nice; they go out of their way to give you a great dining experience.

We had thali and chole bhature. I really like their service and food was full of flavors. We could have asked to make our food a bit more spicy which we forgot, if you want spicy let them know. Overall great experience, would recommend trying out!
