Also ordered the sushi sampler, but was disappointed with the inari. I found there was too much of one filling in each of the 3 different types: egg, guacamole, and salmon. The egg had a nice soft texture, but it was just too much egg and rather filling. The guacamole (mashed avocado with onion flavour) didn’t go great with rice and parmesan (too mushy and boring). The salmon poke had a good marinade but was too rubbery (it had the texture & fattiness of farmed salmon). I think the inari would be much better with a variety of fillings.. maybe some added sliced cucumber or peppers, or shredded nori. The salmon, tuna, and ebi oshi were pretty tasty, as was the futomaki. I also enjoyed the green tea that had a bit of a sweet floral flavour.
The restaurant was very casual but clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, some of the indoor chairs were uncomfortable patio chairs that were too low for the tables.
The server was friendly, and she kindly provided descriptions of the menu items.
I debated whether or not to give 4 stars instead of 3 because I’d definitely go back again for the truffle mushroom udon, but I was just too turned off by the inari, which I couldn’t even finish.
The food was great, and the presentation was beautiful. We ordered the aburi salmon and shrimp popcorn to share—the salmon was top-notch.
I ordered the clam udon for myself. I loved the flavor, but there was a bit too much sand in the clams. Other than that, it tasted fresh and delicious. Highly recommended this place and will be back to try their limited lunch tray!
Right near the New Westminster skytrain station. I really liked this restaurant because:
– Presentation of food was excellent
– Presentation was backed up with unique and delicious flavors
*Daily Tray: First come first serve 20 people* So worth it imo
– The Strawberry Matcha was a dessert drink, yum!
– The Inari was loaded with Salmon
– Order at the counter, pay, and they bring you the food & drinks
– Service was friendly and given with care
*Not sure why this restaurant is not getting media hype
Highly recommend!
I highly recommend as a date or for a friend catch-up! Lovely clean and calm atmosphere.
It’s a bit expensive but I dont think anywhere is not these days :/
We had a great time and will be back!
