Hidden gem, family friendly service, comfort food! I ordered the breakfast burrito (photo attached) and it was the best I’ve ever had. We had Joy taking care of us and she was so sweet. Must have if you’re in town!

Have to say, some of the best breakfast foods I’ve ever had anywhere. Cheese grits, fluffy biscuit, Greek omelet were standouts. Never heard of livermush but I’m now a fan! Side of fried balogna was way too small for price and not even 1 onion on it! Hardworking no nonsense single server was not unfriendly but kind of perfunctory with the blessings and greetings. Definitely worth a stop and I’m thinking of coming back for lunch in the next 2 days.

After reading about Victory Kitchen in Our State magazine, I had high expectations; the cozy farmhouse-turned-restaurant did not disappoint. With only about 10 or 12 tables surrounding the hearth of what were perhaps the front parlor and dining room of the house, the atmosphere is more that of eating at a favorite Southern grandmother’s house than in a restaurant and the food like favorite recipes from that grandmother’s kitchen. And like those homemade meals around Grandma’s table, meals take time here…sweet, slow-down-and-enjoy-your-people time. With the small space and big reputation of the place, a wait for a table should be expected. It’s a great opportunity to sit a spell on the front porch or at a picnic table in the yard. A sign inside gives fair warning that each meal is made to order and, therefore, takes time. If you are impatient, in a hurry, or have children who have difficulty waiting, save this place for when you can slow down and savor the setting and the delicious food; ain’t no room for hangry here. Trust me, it will be worth the wait.

Cute restaurant looks like grandma’s house. Great food, way better than the legends or the garden at rumbling bald. Shrimp and grits is creamy, tasty, and don’t underestimate the pancakes on the side, the pancakes have some cornbread in it, and whatever seasoning that tastes great.
Only 3 mins outside of rumbling bald amenities, definitely worth visiting.

This is a review for the catering arm of Victory Kitchen (we have not been to the actual restaurant).
10 stars for Mark and his crew. We contacted them from basically a blind referral from our venue in Lake Lure and so happy we did. From the beginning, Mark was easy to work with, gave guidance on choices and amounts, went to the venue to plan his set up prior to the event, was always punctual and quick to reply to my Nervous Nelly questions. The day of our event, he ran back and forth setting up the venue and manning his bbq smoker. And the food was so good!!! Many said it was the best pulled pork they’d ever had-including me. The potato salad was delicious and I don’t care for most potato salads, and the Mac and cheese was also a star on the buffet, I think it got hit hardest. Mark and his assistant were efficient and so nice to everyone. Then they stayed to help clean it all up with us. 100% of everything Mark and his crew did was spot on and I’m so glad I picked them for our event. I look forward to visiting the restaurant soon and I highly recommend you reach out to Mark if you need a bbq caterer. I did not think to take pictures unfortunately.

We came in at 10:45am, they close at 2pm. We felt very rushed to make a decision, and wasn’t well served. The food was decent and the atmosphere was good. We were immediately served the check and again feel rushed. It wasn’t busy, so we aren’t sure if this is a normal experience or just a bad day.

We stumbled upon this place so we thought we would try it for breakfast. There was a wait about 25 minutes because the restaurant is small. There are chairs and benches to sit outside and wait.
Once we got seated it was about 10 minutes and no waitress came over. There was another waitress helping the next table and she noticed I was staring at her. She was not our waitress but happy to take our order. I am not sure what the mix up was, but this waitress that served us was extremely nice and very friendly.
The food came out nice and hot and you could tell everything was made cooked to order!!! It was delish! Next time we come to this area we will try lunch or dinner. Oh try the French Toast, it was so good.

We are staying in Rumbling Bald for a weekend trip and got food from here as takeout for lunch and it was delicious!! The crispy chicken wrap is VERY good. The kids enjoyed the chicken fingers and fries. The fried cornbread and onion rings were good too. The workers inside were extremely courteous and it has an adorable atmosphere inside.

Very cute and quaint local place. Very friendly staff, enjoyed it very much. Biscuits were fresh, sausage gravy was good too. But remember two things… #1 breakfast service stops at 1030am. and they don’t serve anything else until 11am. And #2 – you are in the south and everything is slow. I don’t say this to be critical, you just need to know to expect this everywhere. But definitely visit this locally owned, popular w locals, Christian based and yummy spot. Thank you ladies!!!!
