BEST PASTA IN RALEIGH (&GF!!) My mother has been gluten free (from celiacs disease) for 20+ years and this has to be the best gf pasta I’ve ever tasted that’s she’s gotten. I got the gnocchi and it was also to die for. Service was fantastic – I unfortunately did not have room for dessert – but I very much intend to go back.

Went here last night for a friend’s birthday. I understand that we were a large party, but we had reservations, so expected the restaurant to accommodate us. The service staff could not be more annoyed that we were in there, at one point the sever shouted “helllooo” and waved his arms to get someone’s attention to ask them a question. Other than our party the restaurant was empty (grainy photo below)… you’d think they’d be happy to have a big group on a Saturday night when the rest of the restaurant was empty.
The food also leaves you wanting, we stopped at a fast food restaurant on the way home because we were still hungry.
They also tack on an insane amount of hidden fees. After tax and mandatory 20% tip, our bill total went from $100 to $150, the math just doesn’t make sense.
There are so many wonderful Italian restaurants in the RTP area, so if I was you, I’d spend my money elsewhere.

We’ve eaten at Tuscan Blu twice. Both times, we were unimpressed with the food and found it rather bland. The Chicken Parmigiana was tough, the Chicken Alfredo was not flavorful, and the Chicken Caesar Salad was only so-so. The lasagna was decent and had the most flavor out of what we ordered. We also tried the Caprese Salad and were underwhelmed. The tomatoes were too thick, there was no fresh basil, and no balsamic at all.
The bread was great!
The atmosphere in the main restaurant is decent, though the layout is a bit weird. There are some murals of Italy (I assume) on the wall, but they are blurry and pixelated like the original photo was low resolution. The bathroom atmosphere is inexcusable. After being in the reasonably pleasant restaurant, the bathrooms feel old, cold, and are stark white in comparison to the warmer mahogany wood feeling of the dining area. It wouldn’t take much to dramatically improve the feel of the bathrooms.
The service was outstanding. The wait staff was extremely attentive (almost to a fault!) and our orders were accurately and quickly delivered.
For a restaurant in a busy part of downtown Raleigh with a 4 star rating (at time of writing), you’d think this place would be packed—but it isn’t. In the two times I’ve dined here, it was not at all busy. Maybe the citizens of Raleigh knew something I didn’t.
All in all, if you’re looking for a dinner spot and literally can’t find anything else, Tuscan Blu is an ok choice. The food isn’t bad—it’s just not anything to write home about. But if you have other options, almost anything else is probably better deserving of your time and money.
I want to love this place, but I just can’t. Sorry 🙁

Everything was fantastic last night. My husband got chicken parm and his only complaint was that his chicken was tough. I got Alfredo. It was delicious, but same complaint, chicken was dry and tough. Perfect setting though for a date night.

We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for months. Patrizia greeted us at the door and was so kind and welcoming. We enjoyed an incredible meal that consisted of the meatballs, antipasto plate, lobster ravioli, and the gnocchi creamy pesto. My wife had a wonderful moscato with her ravioli and we finished our meals with the affogato and tiramisu. Additionally, our server was very kind and accommodating making the experience spectacular. You could feel the love and culture poured into the restaurant and the food. I have been thinking/talking about this meal since we left and we can’t wait to visit again!!

I stopped by with friends for the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week special. We all got the fiocchi and loved it. $30 for the caprese, fiocchi, and cheesecake bites was a steal. The wait staff was very attentive and we were stopped on the way out to thank us for coming in.

I went to Tuscan Blu Italian Restaurant on Friday with some coworkers. The service was very friendly, but it was extremely hard to understand either of the waiters serving us and there were multiple miscommunications during our visit. All were corrected, but it was definitely inconvenient at times.
The food looked good, but the calamari, salmon in the penne alla vodka, and scallops were all very fishy. The vodka sauce and white wine sauce that came served with the squid ink pasta and scallops were both extremely oily, as if an extraordinary amount of butter was used in them. This is not what we expected for downtown Raleigh quality.
Probably should’ve checked other reviews first, but unfortunately I cannot recommend eating at Tuscan Blu from our experience.

I went there today with a big group. We had a reservation so there was no wait.
The food was absolutely delicious. A real authentic Italian food. And the service was excellent.
Before we left, the owner came to the table and double checked that we liked everything. She asked my kids if they liked the food and desert. She was super nice and sweet.
When I compare that to some restaurants that they get very annoyed when you walk in with kids, you feel that she really cares.
I am definitely coming back.

I would give this place 100 stars if I could. It’s our favorite spot for date night or dinner with close friends and family in Raleigh. The pasta dishes are the best Italian food we’ve found in the area and for a very reasonable price. The owner and staff are always so kind, making sure all of their guest always feel valued and appreciated! Highly recommend Tuscan Blu!
