Welcome to the Oyster Cracker Café! We have fresh oysters and other tasty treats. Enjoy waterfront dining, and locally sourced, fresh seafood.
The Oyster Cracker Café is an undertaking of the Bayshore Center at Bivalve in an effort to build a destination in Bivalve, share the bounty of the Bay, as well as local produce and locally made ingredients. All proceeds and gratuities support the education programs presented on the 1928 oyster schooner A.J. Meerwald and at the Bayshore Center at Bivalve.

Great little out of the way seafood eatery on the Jersey side of the Delaware Bay.
It’s actually a very basic, no frills place where one can enjoy very basic, tasty seafood right on the docks and watch a tall, schooner like tour ship pass by right in front of you. It’s a very unique, one of a kind place to visit and enjoy a plate of breaded white fish or a small plate of fried oysters with a close-up, scenic view of the bay.
A slice of a bygone time with a unhurried serine atmosphere.

This is an amazing, cozy little hidden gem of a restaurant on the Maurice River. The food and service was excellent. The inside was nice and clean. Next door is a museum, which kids would love. I highly recommend visiting. If you like my review please like and follow me…

Fried oyster and fried fish sandwiches at picnic tables under cover on a 93° day with a breeze. Delightful.
Friendly staff and AJ Meerwald crew.

Seating dirty. Food is hit or miss. Prices do not reflect food quality. Friends food came raw then had 2 wait long time 2 get other meal. Younger waitresses/cashier not friendly. Older waitress was wonderful and fast. Her service was exceptional. Shucker was friendly and informative about oysters. Music great and surroundings peaceful and beautiful.

Stopped by to get a bite to eat saw something on face book. Great atmosphere because it sits right on the water not a lot of tables. They have a raw bar which they had some good oysters and A J s pub where you can get craft beers 4 or 5 to pick from and some wine. The food took forever and it was not good. Cold and my soft taco shell was stale. It’s a Shame it could be good but they need better food and maybe a manager or something it seemed as though no one there ever worked in a restaurant before. They said they opened at 12 noon the oyster guy wasn’t ready to serve oysters until 1. We ordered our food at 12:15 didn’t get until an hour later.disappointing.

Historic area, museum, local beer and waterfront location. Extremely casual and interesting. Raw oysters on a Friday once a month. A famous ship usually docked there that you can see and it does scheduled rides. Really nice people work there.

Sadly, this is a place to avoid. Until they get their stuff back together, it is a ripoff and may soon end up closing. Lousy, over-priced food and pathetic service. Fired the good chef. None of the meals were freshly prepared. If oysters are your specialty, you would think the oyster bar would be open on a Friday night. Stay clear. Makes me sick to get ripped off, but I feel worse about soon losing another So. Jersey restaurant.

Came in for a late lunch, early dinner. Luckily there was some live music to pass the time. We placed our order, went to the raw bar to pick up our raw oysters which were excellent. But beyond that I have nothing else to say.there were only a few tables. We never got our meal. Waited for well over an hour, no one came around to inquire. By that point it wasn’t even worth the hassle for a refund or to take it to go. Very disappointing.

Awesome historical place for families and couples to visit. AJ Meerwald, a tall ship, could be docked there. Check website for more information.
