El Bee’s is a long-standing staple for Tex-Mex food in the Omaha area. Their portions are large, the place is always busy, the food is hot, and the service is friendly and relatively quick. Margaritas are a bit on the strong side which was fine for me. The Macho Chimichanga is a generous portion and I would definitely order this again. If you have never been here, it is definitely a place to check off on your list.

Apparently this ‘use to be’ the place to go for Mexican food, using ‘use to’. I don’t understand how it is so good?

We arrived toward closing time (late October 2024), several people at bar, one other table eating. Several staff available.

No free chips & salsa (means not authentic Mexican), so we went ahead and ordered bean dip to get chips while we waited for the fajita’s.
The bean dip wasn’t all that bad – open can, dump, place a lot of cheese and put in oven. Nothing authentic about.

Fajita’s – wasn’t sizzling, barely room temp. No seasoning. Chicken tasted like it was out of a frozen bag, microwaved and thrown with cold veggies. Worst fajita’s ever.

Reasonably priced. Good service.

Unfortunately, will not be making a stop to try again. Cannot recommend despite a lot of others saying it is 5 star worthy.

I never fail to be amazed at how well oiled of a machine this restaurant is. I was there tonight and would say that they have attained near perfection, I only say “near” because there’s no such thing as an absolutely perfect restaurant right?

It starts as you approach the restaurant to see a nice new very large parking lot, and a very nice looking building. At peak times there can very often be a line which they seem to move through pretty quick. You are generally greeted by the owner who also seats you. Most of the time the waitress is there, before he is out of sight, to get your drink order.

Tonight we got chips and cheese, which was at the table in under 5 minutes. I got my usual favorite, the taco salad, that I have been ordering for probably 35 years, since they were down on Main Street. Our dinner hit the table before we were halfway done with the chips, under 30 minutes maybe even under 20 I forgot to look at my watch. As always the presentation was Top Notch. I’m a big guy but I never leave hungry, everything always tastes so fresh and delicious and when I picked up the bill I’m always surprised at how reasonable the prices are.

The inside of the restaurant is immaculate, all of the staff are clean, friendly, and attentive. I can’t stress enough the importance of a restaurant and its staff being clean and presentable. At some restaurants even some nicer ones, I may occasionally, after seeing something I didn’t like, find myself looking at the silverware to make sure it’s clean and if I get too uneasy of a fealing I don’t return.

I guess I better bring this to a close thank you very much for a lot of years a very good food and service.

My first time trying this place my expectations weren’t high but I didn’t know they would be shattered. The food was the whitest thing I have tasted and was not authentic at all. To start I ordered the queso with added hamburger and the salsa and chips. It came out luke warm and tasted like the cheese squirted out of a bag from the concession stands. The salsa was not fresh and had a twang to it. AND NO the salsa was not free, had to be paid for, not worth $10. Now the peach margarita on the rocks was the only thing worth it. Going on to the entrees, we ordered a chicken chimichanga and the quesadilla grande. When it came to the table I didn’t even know there was a quesadilla under the stack of grease and slop on top. The overly seasoned meat was covered with a soggy tortilla, covered in toppings and you couldn’t identify it as a quesadilla. The chicken chimichanga was mediocre at best I’m assuming best thing on the menu. The atmosphere was not welcoming at all and felt as if we were not invited to the slumber party. Our service was not good. Server did not check on us after meals came out someone else came by and we had to ask them to get our sever. This is my first review I have ever written and felt compelled to warn others. Don’t waste your money!!!

Been going here for years. Portion size tends to be on ther large size where it’s not unusual to take some home with you unless you choose to stuff yourself and then immediately want to take a nap! 🙂 Style is not authentic, but not Tex-Mex either but probably closer to Tex-Mex but they don’t sauce the meat, the sauce is on the outside. I typically get the Flautas which is baked and I top with their hot sauce which is really good. I also like their margaritas! Service is always great.

By far the grossest Mexican myself and the wife ever had. Both of our dishes looked like dogfood, and the taste was bad. Took half of it home and wife said are we really going to heat this slop up? Good point I said and told her throw it in the trash. Do yourself a favorite and go somewhere else. If someone asked to me to rate this place on a scale from 1 to 100 and 100 was the worst. Easily put a 100 here!

Oh yeah the so called margaritas we basically all tequila with a shot of mix. When the waitress brought the pitcher to us I honestly thought it was ice water. That is how clear the pitcher of Margarita was. Hey if I wanted shot of tequila I would have ordered one, definitely not worth 18 bucks for it
