Great food and fantastic bartenders! We stopped in and enjoyed three amazing sushi rolls along with fresh sashimi. The Playboy Roll was the standout — incredibly flavorful and a fun, well-balanced combination that made for a memorable bite. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re craving quality sushi and great service.

I ordered one of their lunch specials which was 3 sushi rolls with a side salad or soup
For $14 it’s a great deal
Hiked the spicy salmon roll the best
It appeared freshly made and stored nicely in the box with enough wasabi and soy sauce! Chopsticks were also included(not the ones in the picture those are my own)

Pros:
– I ordered out, and they had my order ready in 8 minutes. Nice that I didn’t have to wait the 30 minutes they estimated.
– I ordered two specialty rolls (Grasshopper and One Night in Kyoto), two salads with ginger dressings, and a clear and miso soup. All tasted AMAZING! I would definitely recommend those rolls if you like raw fish, lots of flavor, and some heat!
– fair prices! I hate paying more than $4 for a small bowl of soup, and these were $3. The rest of the rolls were not too expensive, and had a moderately diverse menu of sushi.
– the ginger dressing for the salad was delish (which I’m kind of picky about)

Cons:
– I ordered out to take to my boyfriend’s house after work, and when I got to his house, we noticed there was no silverware/chopsticks or napkins included. Okay nbd. Then I noticed they did not include soy sauce packets which was a pain because my boyfriend didn’t have any at home (I know, I need to train my man better). THEN, I noticed my sushi did not have wasabi or ginger! What?! How do you forget that! I’m assuming it’s because they rushed my order and had it done so quick that they forgot it.
– I’ll attach a photo, but the display of the sushi was somewhat confusing. It looks like the two rolls were kind of mixed together on one side, so I didn’t know which one I was eating.
– we ended up running to Cub to grab some soy sauce and wasabi paste which cost us another $10 unnecessarily. We had to re-bowl and re-heat the soups because of this delay.
– the containers that the soups were in were not your normal containers you often get at Asian takeout restaurants. The quality is similar to a clear drink cup you’d get at chipotle: thin and flimsy. It actually leaked in the bag, and broke through the paper sack. Luckily it didn’t make a major mess and we were still able to drink them.

Overall, giving it a 4/5 because the food was great, the display and takeout conditions were not. I would recommend only eating there, not taking out. Or if you do, I recommend asking for the soy sauce packets/chopsticks/wasabi/ginger when you pick up.

Had a very good and quiet lunch. The only thing I didn’t give five stars was atmosphere, and that’s just because I found it necessary to face away from the windows due to the brightness. Maybe that wouldn’t bother most people. But it was quiet and we could have had any table we wanted. The food was excellent and service was great as well. One more mention is that parking is easy.

Great spot for sushi! The dishes we had were very tasty and the fish had a nice texture. I honestly was very impressed even with their spicy tuna roll—it’s one of the best spicy tuna rolls I’ve had! Overall decent atmosphere, friendly staff, and convenient location. Definitely a good place to check out if you’re in the area!

Great location for a sushi restaurant. The atmosphere wasn’t bad and the food was pretty good. The only problem was waiting for our food to come out. The server only handed our table of 5 with one happy hour menu so it took us a while to decide what we wanted on that and the regular menu. But the over all experience wasn’t bad.

Went to Raku this weekend, after at least 4 years since my last visit, and I have to say their food is still pretty great! Actually it is better than what I remember! The sashimi was phenomenal! It was very fresh, and creamy!!! By far the best I have had recently! The fried eggplant with spicy tuna was an amazing appetizer! The udon and crispy beef were very good too although the beef was a little in the sweeter side! The chilled sake was good as well! All in all it was a very nice dining experience!

The food was great! I did take out, and when I asked to host for chopsticks, she said they were already on the bag. When I checked the bag and didnt see them, I asked for chop sticks again and I was told that they were at the bottom of the bag. Needless to say, they were not in the bottom of the bag. Food was great. Just wish I was eating my sushi with chopsticks rather than a fork.

This was my first time dining at Raku. Very casual atmosphere in the trendy West End shopping area. I started with a sake flight and avocado salad. I’m not a raw fish sushi lover so I went for the sweet potato tempura roll and it was delicious. Prices are very reasonable for a sushi joint. Everything was freshly prepared and the service was great. After dinner there’s plenty of bars and shops within walking distance if you want to wander around. Miss this area of the Twin Cities. We’ll be back when winter is gone!
