It’s has been over 25 years since I’ve been to a Waffle House. The food is much different from back then of course and the restaurant seating had changed. But the overall feel for the place is the same. Kind of that familiar feel you get when you go to your Aunt Gladys’s house. You know, the one with 3 unlicensed pit bulls, an old Pontiac up on blocks and she uses canned milk? I felt like the Waffle House did not disappoint. I love it. The waffle is much thinner than it used to be, but things change in 25 years. Though the buttery delicious flavor was still as I remember. My hash bowl with gravy was on point. The cost seemed so reasonable to me. Two of us ate for $27 and then we tipped. Our waitress was so sweet and even helped a single dad entertain his kid so the dad could eat. The place wasn’t very busy with customers inside, but the take out orders kept them busy. Pretty much just the way I remembered, less the take out option. I can’t wait to try it again in another 25 years

The food and service were both great when we came through 2 days ago. The one thing that ruined it for us was the lady wearing a grinch shirt yelling at her coworkers and being obnoxious. There were what appeared to be a couple of new employees being trained by her, and to say she was over the top was an understatement. Fussing about every little thing. I have trained several new hires in my field and if I ever treated him the way they were being treated, I hope that they would have called me out on it. No wonder there is a sign in the window for help.
Our waitress was wonderful, as was the rest of the staff. The food was delicious and it was brought to us quickly.

I would love to tell you about the quality of the food here but unfortunately after sitting here with my girlfriend for nearly 30 minutes with a whopping total of 3 other tables seated, two of which already had food, literally no one took our order. No one even brought us menus. I had to get up and grab them after about 20 minutes, and even then after staring directly at the server who was running around at the grill as if the building was packed, no one came over and said a word to us. So we left and drove to Elizabethton instead. Literally the worst service I’ve ever seen in a restaurant, because you can’t call it service of any kind.
What an absolute joke. Will never be back and will actively discourage anyone from ever visiting this location.

Cook Heather running the line was an absolute G. She handled a high volume of orders with incredible accuracy and even though she was busy and I asked for my food to be cooked “light” (which I know can be an inconvenience) she didn’t overcook my food. 10/10 would come again.

This is the best waffle house experience I ever had. I’m not sure what the cook’s real name was but the lady watress called him rainbow and he was so funny and sweet. This is my favorite waffle house ever now … I’m from Texas.
