A lot of my friends recommended 53 to me and I went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. There are 2 floors and the upper floor with bar is a bit tiny than I thought.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The food is fresh and incredible. The prices are pretty high but worth it. I’ll be back every visit as long as the quality and service remains high.

This has easily become our favorite restaurant in NYC! My husband and I decided to have dinner here two weeks ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and escorted to our table. On the way to our table multiple staff members greeted us, this was such a nice touch. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a date night. After being seated, our server Sheila came over and introduced herself, she reviewed the menu with us and recommended drinks. For drinks we ordered the coke de blanc and an old fashioned. The drinks were really good and you can tell it was made to perfection. For appetizers, we ordered the duck pie, toro tartare, king crab, oyster & uni & royal shumai. Every single appetizer was delicious! The portions are small but the dishes are filled with flavor and the presentation is beautiful! For entrees, we had the king prawns, lamb ribs & scallops along with the lobster fried rice. King prawns and lamb ribs were great. The lobster fried rice was also very tasteful and filled with lobster. The scallops were not as great as every other dish we ordered. For dessert we had ice cream & the nama chocolate which we really enjoyed. Throughout the night we had two managers check in on us and our server Sheila was the absolute best! Freddy was also very helpful throughout the night with the check ins. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here to celebrate our anniversary and will be back very soon.

We had salmon carpaccio, Kung po quail, duck pie tee, lobster fried rice, shrimp skewers, razor clams, pea sprout sambal, duck 5 spice clay pot, mango pudding & chocolate cake. They’ve done the seafood well. It’s not overcooked. Most of the dishes have very nice pungent flavors; however, not reminiscent of S’pore. This is definitely a fusion place. The clay pot duck I liked the least. The crispy rice is nice & crispy but I was expecting the duck to be more flavorful & more juicy. It didn’t conjure up my clay pot memories from years ago in S’pore. I wish they used the sambal with the dried shrimp for the pea sprout. It would bring out more character to the dish – more like a typical Sing dish. Can’t complain as this dish is gratis along with duck pie tee & chocolate cake. The mango pudding is like mango lasi & has a flan consistency. The service was exceptional! I didn’t expect anything like this.

We had an amazing dining experience at 53, and it was our second visit in over 6 months. The food and service were consistently excellent. Our waiter, Max, went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was enjoyable and satisfying.

Everything about this place portrayed luxury. The staff was kind enough to walk us through the whole menu. We came without a reservation on a Saturday and they were lucky enough to get a bar side seat and comfortably seat 3 people.

After visiting this place I’d definitely recommend coming and try their Asian fusion dishes. All were quite good, especially loved the clay pot rice & carpaccio. Lamb and chicken felt a bit mediocre and didn’t really catch us. It is a little bit over priced, but overall we had a great experience and especially the service is super attentive and nice. Would give the service alone 5/5.

Be disappointed with mediocre Chinese “fusion” food, where the fusion components made the dishes worse. We ordered the eel club, and the foie gras made the dish extremely greasy that threw off the balance of the dish.

Quality of food and drinks is phenomenal. Pricing for what it is made sense as well. The Singaporean chef brings in Malay flavors but pairs them well with find dining. I thoroughly enjoyed the duck pie tee, foie gras eel bite, crystal dumpling, soup dumplings and scallops. The lobster rice did feel a little short. In terms of desserts, mango one was must get. I wasn’t particularly a fan of the peppercorn in my chocolate but I know it’s a thing to do. I recommend this restaurant.
