We went here for my birthday. Our server, Christina, was amazing, and her recommendations were totally on point. The food was excellent, some of the best I’ve had. (Try the crab bomb!) I would return for both of those reasons easily. And yes, it is pricy, but I didn’t feel it was overly so compared to other restaurants.

However, this restaurant has two problems. First, it is extremely loud. They’ve already carpeted it, so I’m not sure what else they could do. The second is that apparently they don’t do anything to recognize special occasions, and although I never expected any such recognition, the experience did feel a bit anticlimactic, especially when there are beautiful desserts and stories of cakes and custom menus for other people’s birthdays here on Google Maps. (They knew it was my birthday because the manager? wished me a happy birthday as we were leaving when I had only included that info on the reservation and not said anything.) To me, this demonstrated a complete lack of creativity, which isn’t usually a desirable trait for a restaurant.

Surely there are very inexpensive strategies to recognize a birthday or anniversary that could even be instagrammable and help with their marketing if they don’t want to absorb the cost of a dessert on the menu. I’m imagining slightly elevated table decor, or perhaps a tiny tarte, like the mini ones from Whole Foods (perhaps shaped like a clover?), with a single candle. What if they took an Instax photo of the guests and put a little sticker on it that said “happy birthday” or “happy anniversary”? Just a few ideas. These options would involve next to no cost (not even in labor) and would add so much to the experience, plus they could potentially result in many appealing photos posted online.

They were quite busy for a Thursday, so perhaps they don’t need more business. It’s just odd to me that they haven’t managed to come up with anything for special occasions at all.

We decided to have dinner at 211 Cover Lane on the advice of our bed and breakfast hosts, and it was incredible. I’m not exaggerating when I say I had the best scallops of my life! The staff and ambience were wonderful as well!

We hosted a bridal shower at 211 Clover Lane on July 19th, 2025. Devin took care of our party and did an exceptional job. Devin was very attentive and made the experience fun. The food was outstanding. Lee Middendorf was so nice guiding our event. Her suggestions and attention made it a perfect shower. Clover Lane took great care of us. I would recommend them for any event. They were lovely and we had so much fun

What a great place to take someone special – in this case I was glad I was that someone special for my friend! Elevated at every level from initial greeting throughout the entire dinner experience. The food was spectacular but a special mention to the Halibut, perfectly cooked with the ideal sear around the edge. Our server, Ford, was very attentive but let us take our time so we could visit. Ford was also phenomenal in the bartending department as well…we will definitely be back!

Loved my dinner experience. Enjoyed my Riesling wine. The porkchop was just to die for. My boyfriend loved his veal. I wouldn’t get the wedge salad again, too expensive for what it is but the caramel torte was great!

Lovely old house. The weekend brunch menu is flat $30 choosing from 8 or 9 plates. Food was good, but not your traditional meat and eggs. Beignets to start was a nice touch.

Went here for a special occasion with family and the experience was not great like it had been when we visited years ago. Servers were kind, but not quick to check on us. Our main server didn’t really know much about the menu or alcohol offered. We asked questions about appetizers on the menu and it felt like the server didn’t know what to say other than the ingredient list. Sometimes it’s just good to hear what is popular or maybe if the staff has some favorites. Good conversations with a server can make a dining experience feel more genuine and that the staff believes the food is actually good. It just felt like there was a disconnect between the restaurant’s fine dining image and the actual food/dining experience.

Our reservation time to leaving the restaurant was over a period of 2 hours and we didn’t get dessert. They put our family of 9 around a small circular table and the chairs were super close together. It felt like we didn’t have much room to move and the chairs are unbelievably uncomfortable. The temperature in the restaurant was perfect though so that was good.

The food we received was not worth the money spent. The olives and almonds appetizer was really uninteresting other than the almonds having a pretty good flavor to them. The olives just tasted like olives in brine that I’ve had many times over. I don’t know if I was expecting too much from olives and almonds, but it was just kind of boring for the price. It was $58 for a filet mignon. All three that we ordered showed up over cooked and hard to cut through. We didn’t want to send back the three overdone steaks because it had taken over an hour to get our entrees and we all wanted to keep dinner moving. Many people got asparagus with their entrees and out of the ~3 asparagus stalks they received on each of their plates, 1/3 were fibrous and unable to be eaten.

We wouldn’t have minded staying for the two hours if it was comfortable to sit there and the food was good. I think this place needs a major review of their staff and chef(s). The prices just need to go down if they don’t figure this out.

Lovely atmosphere inside and out. Excellent cocktails and food. Thought the fried green tomatoes were the best I’d ever had, as were the scallops. Tried my companions’ beef tips and filet mignon, and those two dishes could definitely cure me of my hesitation to eat much red meat. Wonderful wine list; excellent Calvados.

I took my friend for her birthday. I was surprised to learn this place had been there for a long time and i had never heard of it. It was a beautiful place with a beautiful patio and the most surprising thing was how quiet it was right in the middle of St. Matthews. The food was excellent and the service was great.
