A hidden gem within the city of Oak Ridge. The food was very good. The crab stuffed mushroom appetizers were delicious and the Sam Cook Scampi was very good as well as their signature cocktails. The atmosphere was classy with bit of nostalgia. The staff was very accommodating to our needs.

I tried this restaurant when it first opened in Oak Ridge in the historic Jackson Square and was turned off by the loud live cover band music even though the food was top notch. That was several years ago. We gave then another shot tonight on a Friday just to sit at the bar and have some drinks and see how the place was doing. It was a night and day difference. 201 truly gave the feel of an upscale Jazz restaurant that I had hoped for when they first opened. The piano and Sax duet were a pleasure to listen to. We actually were sad we already ate before heading over to have a few drinks at the bar. And, we would have stayed later but for other commitments in the morning.

We did get two of the appetizers, the crab stuffed mushroom and the Feta Cheese with Balsamic vinegar, peppers and tomatoes. Both dishes were delicious and I would order each again.

The bartender Justin made great drinks and very friendly in conversation. All or drinks were good to excellent.

Sadly, the dining area did not fill even though the menu looked delicious, the music was on spot, and the atmosphere was great. If you have tried this before, give then another shot, they bring something to Oak Ridge that would be irreplaceable if they don’t make it. We will be going back as regulars. I hope others will as well .

I think 201 and “Fire and Salt” both offer a level of dining that would compete with Old Town Knoxville or Market square. Give then a try and post your thoughts.

Loved the jazz music and outside dining area. We were halfway home from our trip to Loretto Kentucky and found thus gem on OpenTable. Everything was great, with one exception, the stuffed pork chop special. The chop was pretty bland but the mushroom risotto was great.

Such a cute unique spot. We love jazz so it’s awesome to have a joint like this. The food is very good but a bit pricey for the portion you get. They also seem a bit understaffed.. almost like there’s only 1-2 waiters for all the tables.

Nice restaurant with a quaint jazz vibe. We were early on Friday evening before the live band so we enjoyed the low toned jazz background music. I was thrilled that they had Abita root beer (you gotta try if if you like root beer).
Laken our server was very nice, attentive and helpful. The other servers were great as well.
Our salads were fresh and plentiful. The fresh bread with a plate of olive oil mixed with herbs we enjoyed.
The mini crab cakes as a happy hour appetizer were awesome. My wife is ready to come back for more they were so good.
My wife got the Filet and I got the homemade Alfredo with chicken. Both dishes were well presented and delicious.
We would not hesitate to return here for another wonderful meal.

Live jazz and blues compliment the restaurant the menu changes from time to time but the food is always delicious and the service is always excellent. Cindy has done a wonderful breathing new life into this corner of the Plaza. Of course if you’re still craving some really good ice cream Razzleberries has only move Two doors down. With the upcoming Valentine’s holiday I would strongly recommend visiting this place for some Candlelight and the smooth iconic sounds of a saxophone.

Really not sure how this place has such good reviews. The best thing we got was the fried green tomatoes. The entrees were all SUPER bland for the price. You could tell that the pastas were cooked separately from the proteins. The pastas didn’t have nearly enough sauce and way too much oil. The proteins were even more bland and flavorless and lazily thrown on top. My friend got shrimp scampi and most of her shrimp were not properly cleaned. You could see the waste sac. The ocean special cocktail tasted like conditioner. The waiter was very awkward and smelled strongly of cigarettes when he came to our table, which is altogether unappetizing and potentially triggering for asthmatics. The music was the best part of that night and I’m not even usually a jazz fan. But even that was a bit too loud for the scale of the restaurant. All of this for entrees that were 20$ plus a piece. Just not worth it. The lavender lemonade was amazing. 12/10. I could eat my weight in the fried green tomatoes. We wanted to try the ceviche but they were out of that and the spinach dip. If the non-alcoholic drinks and an appetizer are the best part of the menu, I don’t recommend going there unless it’s just for a snack.

This upscale café and Wine bar is to be commended for its atmosphere , waitstaff and great drinks with good prices! But it needs quite a bit of help in the food category. Presentation of the food is phenomenal but the dishes that I have tried always seem lacking. Very bland !!!The chicken marsala did not taste like real chicken. Pasta was not seasoned correctly… kept adding salt and pepper in the hopes of finishing my meal, which I did not! The week before we went there and the food was barely warm. I gave it 5 stars however because I feel this restaurant has potential…. I would expect that a restaurant that is so inviting…. with beautiful white linen tablecloths and napkins , great music, and great staff would have the food to match!

We just happened to pass 201 Cafe and Wine bar and stopped in. The drinks and wine selections were terrific and the appetizers were delicious. We all enjoyed our meals tremendously. The staff were great and made us feel very welcome! Our drop in , turned out to be a 4 hour meal and hang out. We really enjoyed all aspects of our time there.
