We decided to show some love to a local business and ordered dinner from Gervasio’s Italian Family Restaurant. We placed our order through DoorDash and ordered one plain pie and one pepperoni pizza. The total came to nearly $50, so we were expecting a quality meal.

Unfortunately, what we received was extremely disappointing. When the pizzas arrived, they were not hot — not even warm — which immediately raised concerns about freshness. Once we opened the boxes, things only got worse. The plain pie had little to no visible cheese, and both pizzas appeared overcooked and burnt in several areas. The crust was hard and dry, and the overall presentation looked nothing like what you would expect from an Italian restaurant.

We understand that delivery can sometimes affect temperature, but this felt like more than just a delivery issue. The lack of cheese and the burnt quality suggested the pizzas may have been sitting out or rushed through preparation. For the price we paid, the quality simply did not match the cost.

We contacted DoorDash to report the issue, but despite spending close to $50, we were only offered a $13 reimbursement. That response felt inadequate given the condition of the food and the fact that the meal was essentially inedible.

We genuinely wanted to support a local establishment, but this experience was very disappointing. Unfortunately, based on this order, we will not be returning or ordering again.

Signed,
Very Disappointed

Have ordered from here several times. Dined in, delivery and pick up. Always hot and fresh. Really solid tomato pie! Terrific salads, apps and entrees. Their beet salad and artichoke francese are standouts.

Excellent pizza! Trenton style pie was great. Chicken Monte Carlo special was delish. Fresh bread was soft and warm. Portions were very generous. Half our food came home. White cloth napkins were classy and appreciated. It was worth the drive even tho we have a lot of good Italian places near us.

A fantastic tomato pie don’t get me wrong, but nothing really stood out that would bring me back for another. The crust was great, nice and crisp, and a good flavor. In my opinion, there was a bit more cheese than I would have preferred, which led to some excess grease. Although I did enjoy the sauce on the pie, which was on the tart side rather than sweet, there wasn’t anything really “pronounced” about it. Again, a good pie, just nothing that left a lasting impression. I would, however, recommend giving Gervasio’s a shot to experience the tomato pie for yourself. Great, fast, and friendly staff!

1st in Class!!!!!! Simply delicious!!!!

Greeted immediately upon entering and soon thereafter greeted by our waiter Nick! Placed our order and food was served timely. First course, pasta fagioli and a pizza. Wow, wow, wow! Fagioli was the best I ever had in my life! Pizza absolutely amazing with imported tomatoes, and a crispy crust right from the first bite!!

Entrees were the balsamic and caramelized onion wings!! Shazam!! Perfect 10!! Wife had the South Philly Chicken Sandwich on lightly toasted Italian bread, freshly fried chicken cutlets, and freshly garlic sauteed broccoli Raab with provolone!! Holy cow!! Off the hook!!

Owner Mark came out to check on everyone’s table and he stopped to chat! Super nice with a great personality!! Needless to say, we will be back!!!!

Amazing little Italian restaurant. The pasta definitely matches the well known pizza taste. The vodka rigatoni and capellini salsiccia are a must pair with the pizza, the portions are a large size but the richness/flavor of both are decadent. It’s so rich in flavor that you can only eat so much but always end up going back for more.

We ordered takeout:
Pizza was extremely greasy. Piccata doesn’t come with plain pasta unless specified. So when we got home with our food, we discovered chicken , and then another container with pasta & marinara (a different meal in my opinion) so I was pretty disappointed.
We decided to try takeout a second time, and were pleased with our meals (cheesesteak and Cesar salad). The staff was also very kind. I added a star to my review, and hope that we will continue to have good experiences here!

Incredible Italian food. Best Artichoke francais we’ve ever had. Everything was super fresh, cooked perfectly, and had wonderful flavor. I got the roasted beet salad with grilled chicken and it was-hands down- the best salad I’ve had since we moved to the area. My husband had the godfather sandwich and was raving about the vodka sauce- so good he wanted to just drink it off the plate. The place was packed, and even so- the food came out quickly. Love the family atmosphere as well. Love that it’s BYOB. Will definitely be back regularly!!
