Lovely place. My son and I totally enjoyed our first visit. The Brussels sprouts and buratta salad is unusual, but very good. Buratta was new to me (Google it). It’s delicious and offsets the slight bitterness of the sprouts and the arugula. The handmade lobster ravioli in creamy caper sauce is to die for. Perfect calamari with an original sweet and hot sauce. My son had the Prohibition burger, and it was beautiful. I am a bourbon lover, so the bourbon flight was a rare treat. We capped it off with the peach creme brulee. The custard is served colder than is typical, just FYI. We expected more of a punch from the peach, but it’s subtle. There is a stronger peach presence on the back end, but the peach is not pronounced if you’re looking for a strong peach impact.
Our server, Kaston, was attentive and informative. He is totally versed in the menu, the history of the dishes, and available variations. The entire staff radiates warmth and welcome.

I chose this place for our 18th wedding anniversary dinner. We had the best dinner and drinks, and the service was excellent. I did a whiskey flight, and the waitress was very informative and gave me great recommendations to try. Our steak was so delicious and big enough for us to share. I can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu. It’s definitely a great place for a date night or a special occasion. I will be back!

Our server was excellent!! Which started our wonderful experience. His recommendations were spot on. The steak was the best both my husband and I have ever ordered. Our friend ordered the prohibition burger and raved about it. Definitely will come again

Had 7:30pm reservations, got there early (we had just drove from Northern KY and starving) they were able to accommodate and seat us right away. Started with an Eagle Rare Old Fashioned and it was one of the best I’ve ever had, great job! Next up was a 16oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and garlic butter. All I will say is the mashed potatoes were forgotten after the first bite of the steak. Cooked perfectly medium, had a delicious red cabbage puree with cheese bites and two small peppers (best peppers I’ve ever had too) to complement the steak. The garlic butter was definitely real butter with fresh garlic and was outstanding. 1933 House of Bourbon is now our number 1 place for steak. Had a huge selection of bourbon to choose from and very reasonable prices. Wanted to try the chocolate bourbon lava cake but had no room left. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, he did a great job!!l

The Indian food for lunch was really good. The Lamb Rogan Josh was the best I’ve ever had, with super tender lamb and a great sauce. Chicken tikka masala was made the good way, with the chicken cooked in a tandoori oven. And there were several other good dishes to be shared family style. The garlic naan was excellent. There was a friendly welcome from the owners and good service from the waiter and servers. And of course, I had to finish the meal with a great bourbon. We always enjoy our visit.

On Sunday, Oct 27th, had the pleasure of dining at a hidden gem that left me utterly impressed…1933 Bourbon House. As I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting decor. The restaurant’s interior was a perfect blend of modern elegance and cozy charm, with soft lighting that created a relaxing atmosphere. We were celebrating multiple events, and our party was very large. The food was nothing short of spectacular. I met the chef and he was amazing. The owners Bernard & his wife were very hospitable and made me, my wife and friends feel at home.
Started with the appetizers and then to the entrees and the desserts each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that danced on my palate. But what truly set this dining experience apart was the old-fashioned whisky I had. It was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever tasted. Each sip was smooth and warming, making it the highlight of my evening.
If you’re looking for a place that offers amazing food, a delightful ambiance, and a memorable drink, this restaurant is a must-visit. Though it is 50 miles from where I live, I plan to come back as often as I can.

Every occasion I’ve visited HOB, the quality, presentation, tradition-defining flavor, and vibrant colors across each perfectly plated dish have exceeded both my expectations and my standards. The staff is knowledgeable, and the chefs are genuinely accommodating, no small task when navigating the minefield that celiac disease creates during a 17th-anniversary dinner. One taste of the lamb shank and I am transported straight to the Jamaican roots of my palate. Mr. Bernard moves through the restaurant with quiet intention, ensuring the excellence he brings to Edwardsville is upheld at every single table. What an experience. Every taste, legendary.

Tried this place on a whim after some shopping and was not disappointed . The staff was very attentive and the food was very good. We tried the ribeye and filet. Both cuts were tender with a nice sear and done medium as requested. The pepper sauce and crispy just right salted truffle fries were of the same delicious caliber. For desert we had the apple tart and peach creme brûlée which were very good. All in all this was a very good experience and we will be back.
Of course the real pull of this place is the bourbon. There is a tremendous choice but I had to drive so I wasn’t able to try it.

My family went last Christmas Eve and we had a good time. So we went back there this year. What my wife wanted to order they were out of. My daughter went to order a mocktail and they waiter said they don’t make them anymore. The water tasted like it had soap in it. And what my daughter wanted they didn’t have either. My wife got the seafood cataloni my daughter had the salmon and I ordered the sirloin lasagna. I just looked interesting and I figured I’d try it. When a meals finally came the waiter brought me spinach lasagna. And he actually tried to argue with me that I ordered it. The waiter seemed a very inexperienced. I asked him if I could order a virgin drink and he said I don’t know but the drinks are pre-made anyway. That was his response. He told me then that another person ordered the sirloin lasagna and he got my meal and I got his. Sounded like a liar to me. Is he just told me the other person ordered the same meal as I did so how did I get his meal which was spinach lasagna. Needless to say at the chatting with the inexperienced waiter I finally got aggravated and I said just go away I don’t want anything I’ll just wait until my wife and daughter are done with dinner and I’ll leave. He apologize several times and I asked him to please leave again and he kept on apologizing I finally had to look at him and say you’re giving me very angry I really wish you would leave me alone. It was probably the worst dinner experience I have ever had in my life. I really think that they’re going to put somebody on their wait staff for the prices they charge they should make sure they were trained better than what we had. The water really bugged me too it smelled like it had chemicals in it.

The food wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t worth the bill. This place definitely puts a lot of effort in the presentation, which was good, but presentation doesn’t translate to taste. nY strip was cooked great, but the steak itself was a little tough. Mashed potatoes were not good. Definitely wont be coming back.
