From Paradise to Hell
This was our second time visiting this ramen restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was completely different from the first one.
The first visit was excellent. The ramen was amazing, we ordered it with a poached egg and everything was perfect—the temperature, the texture, and the flavor. Overall, it was a great experience and it made us want to come back.
The second visit, however, was a huge disappointment. When we arrived, the restaurant was very busy, which I completely understand. Because of that, I was patient with the delay in getting our drinks and food. I know when a place is full, service can take longer.
The real issue started when the food finally arrived. One of the ramen bowls was cold, and the poached eggs were poorly cooked. The yolks, which should have been soft, were hard, and the eggs were literally cold, as if they had just come out of the refrigerator. To make things worse, one of the eggs that came with the ramen had a strange color, almost like mold, which was very unpleasant and concerning.
We spoke with the waitress, and she offered us a 20% discount, which I appreciate. However, this was not about the price—it was about the quality and safety of the food.
It’s really unfortunate because we went from a great first experience to a very bad one. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our experience at Zuru Ramen Bar! The food was amazing; the ramen was flavorful and perfectly balanced, and we especially loved the thin noodles. The gyoza was delicious and crispy, and we couldn’t stop talking about how good the mochi was to finish off the meal.
A special shoutout to Tabetha and Diana, who were both incredible; so kind, attentive, and made our night even better with their friendly service. Everything came out quickly, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.

I went to Zuru after a long day at the Alvin Sherman Library because I needed something warm for my soul. Había tenido un weekend pesado, and all I wanted was a meal that felt comforting and grounding.
Parking was the usual Florida situation, a little chaotic and definitely not relaxing, which never helps my anxiety. Pero con paciencia I managed to find a spot, take a breath, and walk in.
This was the first time I ever went to a restaurant completely by myself. Normally that makes me nervous, but the servers here were so calm and kind that I actually felt welcomed. That alone already made a difference.
I ordered two bao buns, shrimp and tofu. They were fresh and above average, but to be honest, they needed a little more flavor. A sauce or something extra would take them from good to amazing because on their own they felt a bit simple.
Overall, the food was comforting, the service was warm, and I left feeling better than when I arrived. And para que yo diga que un lugar me hizo sentir bien, that really says everything.

Our server Diana was very nice and helped me decide what I was going to get. I’m honestly a picky eater and this was my first time having “authentic” ramen and I ended up getting the kids tonkotsu with spicy chili oil added into it since I do like spicy food. It was a little slow when we first came in but it ended up slowly getting packed. There was even a nice seating area outside where we were able to enjoy our food

It’s been almost a year since I last visited this restaurant, and I remember it being good. However, when I went there for the second time, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the ramen was. If I’m ever in this part of town again, I’ll definitely come back. I told the server that they should open a location closer to Wilton Manors.
