I have been to a lot of pizza places in the world. Tasted all types. This, by far, outweighs anything else. You can hardly see the sauce. However, it’s loaded with flavor. The crust was exactly how it should be. We got the Special and the antipasti salad. It was amazing.

Tried Zuppardi’s for the first time. Went with a small sausage, pepperoni and bacon. Pizza was delicious. I love NH style pizza. A little greasy from the meat toppings, a little flop, held up okay. Nice undercarriage with some corn meal to add texture and some crunch. Sauce was great. Good cheese coverage. Google 4, maybe a 7.8 on a 1 to 10 scale. Crust had good crunch and possibly the highlight of the pizza. Street parking, relatively easy access. In and out. Quoted me 25 minutes and was right on time.

New Haven style pizza at its best. When I’m visiting family, we have gone to Sally’s, Pepe’s, Only the Best (closed). I do not know how I missed Zuppardi’s. For me, it’s like Pepe’s without the crowds and reasonable prices.

Had a clam pie and a fennel sausage w/mushrooms. Excellent dough, thin and crispy with slight custard crumb and chew. The seasoning on the clam pie was perfectly balanced with briny and sweet flavor of the fresh littleneck clams. The sausage itself was wonderful; appropriate hint of anise from the fennel without overpowering the pie itself. Highly recommended.

I wanted to try another New Haven style pizza and this one had great reviews and was on many top 5 local pizza lists. I have tried Frank Pepe’s in prior visit the area so tried this one for comparison. Don’t hate me for saying this, but New Haven style isn’t special to me. I wouldn’t bother driving 90 minutes from Providence or Boston to try these places. They are good and historic locations and the crust is nice but the toppings and cheese are not super remarkable. I have had so many similar wood fired or Naples style pizzas that are similar or better to me in all my travels (note my screen name). We enjoyed our visit, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The ambience is homey, and the menu offerings are decent with salads, meatballs and of course the pizza. I’m not into white pies and am allergic to clams so can’t comment on those varieties. We tried the tomato and fresh mozzarella as an app and it was good and fresh. We had a red pie with mozz and bacon and as stated before the crust was good, the tomato sauce was light not super flavorful, and overall tasted okay. Just missing something for me. The cannolis were quite good (homemade) and they also had a local ice cream offering with many flavors.

Came here at late lunch/early dinner.. the place was pretty empty. I ordered famous clam pizza to share and italian ice cream. The price of the clam pizza varies according to the market price This was the second clam pizza I tried and it’s the best. The crust was crispy and thin and they gave the clam pretty generously. I’d say it has the best crust. The sauce was tasty and mild. I ordered italian ice cream and it’s so refreshing.

The pizza is authentic and taste amazing! Absolutely delicious We drove two hours to try the pizza and it exceeded our expectations. It was worth the hype. Most importantly the people are nice and that means a lot to me. Don’t miss out on one of the best pizza places in America. My favorite by far.

Fantastic pie, but not quite New Haven, leans a bit toward NY (lacks the char, and density of classic NH), but again, a fantastic pie. The sauce has a great umami flavor on top a very crispy bottom (crispy all the way to the center), and balanced with a tasty fatty cheese to bring it all together. My only complaint on this particular pie is that it was too dry…you can see the translucent dry crumb in the pic. Overall, a definite must try if near New Haven!

A classic — the best “apizza” in New Haven! Don’t look for anything fancy here — just high quality pies and tasty salads. The clam pie is a must!
