Excellent lunch with friends at Zora. The menu is very Serbian, I like that. The choice of typical soft drinks are limited to Mexican or Zero Coke, and plenty of Serbian drinks. I had a Vitamin salad (pic) to start and the chicken in mushroom sauce (pic). My only comment, please use a platter that doesn’t look like it was used for a Greek platter smashing event. Other members of our group (we were 10) had grilled calamary (was nicely crisp), stuff mushrooms (perfectly cooked), Zora salad (loved the feta cheese) and as a main dish they had HUGE meat platters, I think it is called Grill Mix. The one in the pic is for 2 people!! Overall, a pleasant event, good memories. The portions are very generous, they must have huge families in Serbia and working out a lot.

Close your eyes and you are in Serbia. From the moment that you are greeted in Serbian to the Serbian band playing after 10 pm, everything offers very authentic vibe. Only giving 5 stars because I’m a good human and I do not want to mess up the algorithm and business dynamic for this establishment, but I have to share the upset. Everything costs money and it’s important to respect the cost of running a business but also transparency is key for a business owner. What’s helpful is when a business specifies exact ingredients instead of being non specific. It’s clear that outside of being Serbian, other nationalities may not be as welcome in this location (myself from Eurasia region), which is one reason we chose this restaurant (more familiar and more similar meals) and our first experience was wonderful due to familiarity with the ingredients, but 2nd experience on this Sunday was not good. Bean stew was ordered. I asked about other meat containing meal (to confirm it has no pork) about what specific meat it has because I do not eat pork. So I declined ordering that entree once the waiter said it was a beef/pork combination. I chose to order the bean stew, which sounded like a vegetarian option without pork. Upon receiving it, saw the broth was cooked with many pieces pork. I chose not to eat the entree, despite at first considering to remove pork and eat the broth, so food is not wasted but the broth smelled too much like pork, yet I still had to pay for what I did not eat. The person who was our waiter said that I didn’t ask him if the entree had pork because Serbian meals have pork, I explained that the way the entree was explained on the menu there was no indication to ask about the kind of meat broth it was in, whether containing any meat. It just feels rude to pay for something I didn’t eat because I didn’t ask if entree was meat containing broth, since the way it was written as being bean stew gave indication to being a vegetarian option. So not going back there even if my absence of not giving business will not matter since it appears that the restaurant has a sufficient Serbian clientele and preference for its own people to frequent the restaurant and not people who don’t belong to Serbian ethnicity. To end on a positive note, fries and salad were great but it was annoying to see the fee for bean stew on my bill despite me not being able to eat it since it had pork. The way the waiter said that I didn’t ask if it had pork or not, thus displacing responsibility on me and ignoring that I said the menu said bean stew without indication of meat content was not the best interaction. For Americans who don’t know what this food is it’s Balkan food from Serbia Croatia Bosnia former Yugoslavia and comparable to Albanian cuisine I had in Detroit.
Great varieties of meat platters and dishes. Excellent bread and spread that is cream cheese butter based.
Worthy to broaden your horizons.
As a person familiar with Balkan food and culture this place is a hidden Gem.
I would eat here again.

Mixed Experience – Food Was Fine, But Unprofessional Presentation
I recently visited Zora Restaurant. The food was okay, and I want to specifically acknowledge the gentleman working there — he was polite, professional, and provided good service.
However, I was quite disappointed by one of the female staff members. She was wearing a shirt that said “Pumpaj” with a heart on it — openly supporting a movement I consider harmful and deeply disrespectful to our country and its values. Regardless of personal beliefs, I found it highly unprofessional for a staff member to wear politically charged clothing while serving customers in a restaurant.
Restaurants should be welcoming spaces for everyone, not places where controversial or divisive messages are promoted — especially by staff.
This seriously impacted my impression of the place. I hope the management reconsiders what kind of image they want to project to their guests
