We were served by a young lady called Nikola. She was lovely, very attentive and checked in on us to make sure our meals were ok and if we required anything. Could not fault her service. Also like the added touch of some nibbles with our drinks before our food arrived. It did not take long before we received our meals.
After being seated, no one came to serve us for 30 mins, and we didn’t receive drinks until we had been seated for 45 mins. Staff were really friendly and clearly trying their best, but clearly they were understaffed.
Guests who arrived later were queuing outside in the cold. We were next to the bar which was covered in empty glasses (see picture) which wasn’t a great atmosphere, compared to previous years where we have had heart confetti etc on the table. Tables behind us were not cleared for a long time and we saw staff arguing. Not very romantic unfortunately.
Food was tasty as always.
Very professional so kind prefect service
I had a lovely experience at Zizzi. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help arrange a special birthday surprise for her, which made the occasion feel really special. The team were friendly and attentive, and the effort they put into the birthday arrangements was really appreciated.
The food was also very nice and everything came out well prepared. Overall it was a great visit and we’re very thankful to the staff for helping make the birthday celebration memorable.
We ordered quite a bit and honestly, everything was delicious. We started with a few drinks like orange juice, Coke, and some other refreshing beverages, which were perfect for the afternoon.
For starters, we tried the King Prawns Spiedini (slow-roasted king prawns on skewers) and they were really well done — flavourful and perfectly cooked. We also ordered the meatballs in a tomato sauce and the fried calamari, which came with a really nice tartar sauce. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and served nicely.
For mains, we went for a mix of pastas and flatbreads. There was lasagna, a few pastas in creamy cheesy sauces, and a vegan friendly veggie flatbread as well. My personal favourite was the Cresta di Gallo pasta in lamb and smoky tomato sauce — it was rich, comforting, and genuinely one of the best pastas I’ve had in a while.
Service was also excellent. Our server was very friendly, knew the menu inside out, and made the whole experience feel even better.
Overall, a really nice, chill spot for a good lunch. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back again.
Maybe they make everything fresh from order, so we have to wait for their pasta to deliver from Italy, salt to be mined from the himalayas, fish to be caught out of the Atlantic, and potatoes to be planted. I’m surprised that they only promise all this in 1hr and 15 mins! Alas my lunch break didn’t last that long otherwise I would have tasted this divine mouthwatering dish!
I hope the management takes this seriously. A lot of people left with us so they must have waited quite a while as well.
Here are some alternative for serious and honest Italian food, unlike yours:
– Aromi next door have excellent pizzas
– Franco Manca is decent
– Tesco Spaghetti Carbonara Taste of Italy
Tap water tastes fine though.
