I have always wanted to try Zippy’s after finding out it is Jason Momoa’s favorite restaurant in Hawaii. And just as he said, it truly is the ultimate comfort food. I accidentally ordered from their takeaway counter instead of the sit-down restaurant since it was my first time there, and I got too excited seeing all the food that I did not even notice the sign.
I ordered the Chicken Trio Platter, which comes with white rice, macaroni salad, Korean fried chicken, chicken katsu with sauce, and their original fried chicken. The food was fresh, hot, and incredibly tasty. Everything was perfectly juicy and crispy, and I finished it all even though the portion was quite large. I was so happy and full by the end of the meal, and I completely understand the hype around Zippy’s. It is one of the best fried chicken fast foods I have ever had.
I also took away their ensaimada, which was super fluffy, soft, buttery, and not overly sweet. It was absolute heaven. The prices are reasonable too, and I cannot wait to come back.

Two hamburger steak plates all six pieces of burgers were burnt brought home for the pups to eat. That with service and atmosphere we have seen better days when lines were out the door to eat there, people didn’t wait 20-30 minutes to eat. I’m big on tipping but zeros. Tip: People choose your establishment provide them good service. Don’t let them leave with a bad taste in their mouths. They are going to tell everyone.

As a Hawai’i native you sometimes just need some comfort food. Living on the mainland now I crave Zippy’s Chili with beans and rice. I recently discovered that they serve a Lilo drink which. Is also fantastic. Add to it the smiling faces of everyone here, Mia was exceptionally sweet and attentive.

The food was alright but the pancakes were terrible. The prices are pretty high. I paid almost $22 for the pancake combo and a cup of coffee not including the tip. When there aren’t a lot of people there, the service is quick and friendly. I went there before and it looked like they had just gotten over a big rush and many tables were still to be cleared. They only had 2 servers so we decided to go elsewhere.

Love this place. It’s to bad it has made it throughout the states. This place has a lot of Hawaii’s local favorites. Which is very delicious and tasty. With a lot of unique flavors and they have so many decadent desserts to choose from. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. And has two areas you can dine in. The first would be a full service restaurant and the other is like a fast food diner. Both are very good and the prices are very reasonable. Also it’s located in the Prince Kuhio Plaza, but you can spot the entrance from one of the sides entrances. There’s lots of free parking and it’s near other stores and food venues.

Its been a while since I came here. We bought Korean chicken plate and the chicken was not warm, the large chili and rice is such a joke, my 6 year old can eat 3 of these….I didnt realize how little the give now and how much they increased the cost. This is almost a $30 meal, plus we got a large drink and grilled cornbread, even this wasnt warn when wo got it. The food is lacking, the service is okay, they are not really personable, but again you never know how ones day went. Its always busy here and not much seating space to eat.
