It is in the spirit and proud tradition of Zinfandel wine producers that we named our restaurant Zinfandel California Cuisine. We’re a fairly small and cozy cafe-style restaurant which is open six days a week for lunch and dinner. And we have a full bar as well as a nice variety of wines. We offer a generous selection of freshly prepared menu items, including: soups and salads, wood-fired pizzas and calzones, sandwiches, burgers, fish, chicken, meats, pastas and desserts. We invite you to visit our establishment which is conveniently located in Gold River. Weather permitting you may dine on the patio, and we can handle small, private parties. To-go orders are welcome. Reservations on Friday and Saturday nights are advised.

Reviews
The wines were fantastic.
It was a quieter time when we were there, so not busy and the staff was very polite.
The reviews of this place are wide-ranging so I wasn’t sure what to expect when dining here.
Food: Get the pasta as the main entree. Good quality and fresh. Really enjoyed the salad, soup du jour, polenta tort, pappardelle chicken, and spinach chicken roll. The warm fresh bread is also a delight (although their butter doesn’t spread easily since it’s too chilled)
Pizza, pork chop, and seabass were mediocre; however, like I mentioned, go here for their pasta.
For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse cake. In my opinion, it was just too dense and it felt like the mousse was sticking to my mouth and throat. Wished it had been lighter.
The staff are exceedingly friendly and the dining establishment feels classy and warm with a dim interior and beautiful napkins and plating.
The moment you walk in, the air is filled with the mouthwatering scent of freshly made dishes, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal.
Mario, the owner, has a way of making every guest feel like a longtime friend—his warmth and genuine hospitality are rare.
The atmosphere is spot on, with just the right blend of energy and comfort, and the music adds to the charm without overpowering conversation.
The food? Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with passion. Every detail, from the friendly service to the welcoming vibe, makes this place stand out. I’ve found my go-to spot and will be back with my family, time and time again!
PROS
-Great variety on the menu
-Plenty of parking
-Nice sized patio
-Full bar
-Attentive staff
CONS
-Lighting is almost too dim
-Gives off an Italian feel but playing Spanish music (although I love Spanish music it just didn’t mesh)
-No one really greets you when you walk in
-The sign outside advertisers half off appetizers (but doesn’t state from 2pm-6pm)
-The decor is older
I had the seabass special, highly recommend it. Flaky pieces of fish, swimming in seasoning.
Pros:
– Friendly and attentive staff
– Variety of food options
– atmosphere is wonderful: inviting, warm, people are clearly enjoying themselves.
Cons:
– Wait time for food
– Ordered a drink and never got it, but they also didn’t charge us.
The calamary was excelent the other 3 dishes (see pictures) were ok taste wise.
The plates were hot, food looked appealing but i cant fathom tasting tuna with a residue of tap water or a salmon that was overcooked.
The sauces that came with the calamary were delicious, calamary was light and crispy loved it.
