After closing Zia’s Trattoria and Zia’s Lago Vista in November, 2021, Joe & Mary Kay decided to combine the great vibes and staff of both locations and create a more updated urban bar focusing on regional Italian food with an innovative twist. They were able to find a fantastic space with a wood burning pizza oven at 6158 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago. The menu is modified regularly using seasonal ingredients. Although Zia’s Social has a fun bar ambience, there is plenty of high and low seating and accommodations for private parties. Once the indoor/outdoor patio is complete, Zia’s Social will be able to accommodate up to 150 guests for private gatherings.

Decided to try someplace new. Found Zia’s on Open Table and based on reviews, we decided to try it out. Couldn’t have been happier and glad we made reservations. Such a cool place inside, friendly staff and an amazing menu. Service was a bit slow when we were their, but our waiter had several large tables which appeared to be high maintenance so he gets a pass! The Old Fashioneds and martinis were excellent. Food was impeccable and the desserts were amazing. You’ve got to try this place and we most certainly will be back.

I recently hosted my daughter’s baptism at Zia’s Social, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the experience. From the moment we had our initial meeting with the owner to discuss the details, it was clear that they were dedicated to making our event a success. They were very accommodating to my special requests, like hiring a magician to entertain the kids. They went above and beyond, clearing plenty of space for the magician to set up, and it turned out to be a truly fun time for everyone.

Although it’s definitely different than the Lago Vista location, this place is still good. The food tasted great and the service is impeccable! I miss a couple things from the old menu, but still an all around wonderful place to brunch and the atmosphere is wonderful!

Fantastic traditional Italian restaurant with a modern Flair. Zia’s Social has been a staple of the Edison Park neighborhood on the far Northwest side of Chicago for over 10 years. This is their new location on Northwest Highway less than 1 mile from where their previous location was. We were party of four, and every one of us found the service to be wonderful and all of our food was fantastic. We started with the Braciole and polenta braised beef rolls as an appetizer. The chicken Limone with Rosemary potatoes was outstanding. We also had their chicken parmesan, 8 finger Cavatelli pasta entree and we loved their daily special that was a roasted pear and goat cheese salad!! I highly recommend this restaurant! If you like to shop local and support local, independently owned businesses, then this is definitely the place to go! We also appreciate that on weekdays they have happy hour drinks and food specials from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. as well as a daily dinner special. Check their website for details.

This space has a great patio and strong drinks. Love that they have bourbon flights and an excellent old fashion. The real stars were the busboys, they needed additional servers but the busboys were attentive and always going the extra mile. Good food with generous portions.
