This place is yummy! You pick a bowl full of ingredients, and then they cook it for you as a soup (think Ramen style) or a stir fry. You pay by weight, so you control how much you eat. It’s quite delicious, and the staff are very nice!

The place is quite big with many seating area and quite bright. The outside is quite dark, need more lighting. The ingredients are fresh with many selection. The soup base kind of watery. The service is fast.

the food is very fresh and delicious. Enthusiastic staff, clean restaurant. I chose mushroom soup and my husband chose traditional soup, both flavors are very delicious. I will come back and support many times in the future

The female staff member at the register was very kind. Many ingredients either lack descriptive labels or are written only in Chinese, making them too difficult for English-speaking customers. It was disappointing that some soups were sold out. While the octopus was fine, the squid had a very strong fishy smell, which was disappointing. Popular ingredients like bunmoza weren’t available either.

Spicy dry malatang pot is just amazing. Clean and fresh ingredients, fast service and helpful staff. Ingredient picking and sauce is self-service. You get one rice bowl per pot and customizable bowl of 1lb is enough for a person. Super delicious!

A customized personal hotpot style. Choose what you want to eat and choose the soup base. Then make your own sauce at the sauce bar and wait for your food at a table. Someone will bring them out.
Don’t put everything because you won’t finish it. About 1lb is good portion. However, you can to-go any leftover.

What a great concept!
The flavor is top notch and authentic.
The staff here are just simply amazing!
Restaurant like this will simply put all the restaurants that branding themselves as healthy, trendy, convenient, affordable to shame. Plus it’s just super delicious!

Maybe the worst Zhangliang Malatang I’ve been to (been to at least 2 others in California). Overcooked the foot so everything was rubbery, the meat was chewy. My mom asked for no spice and then they completely oversalted hers instead, it was like they boiled her food in ocean water. They tried to fix it but it just made the food more overcooked.
The signs for the food was either missing or rubbed out… should get it replaced. Waitress/cashier was cheery and tried to be helpful so five stars for her only.

It was my first time having Malatang and I was lucky to have a friend guide me a bit. You start with a bowl and you add the ingredients you want in your soup. I was warned to be careful and not add too much so I picked what looked appealing. They also charge that by the lb so it helps to be aware of what you’re adding.
I got a decent mix of meat and veggies. Once weighed, you then get your soup base, I went with the classic bone broth and it was delicious!!

Very many dishes. I recommend lamb, beef, and quail eggs, but not fish. There are also many vegetables, delicious and fresh. Will go a second time soon.
