I used to really enjoy coming here, but soup doesn’t seem to be made very fresh and it definitely had been reheated too many times. As you can see in the picture it’s darker than usual and almost flavorless. And apparently since new people started working there they don’t clean the grills so my sandwich was all black. Not burned, just covered in gunk. Very disappointed with my visit today

Love the food. Disappointed in the false advertising. Sign says breakfast sandwiches served all day. I go in and am told they stop at 11. Fix the sign please.

Super yummy bread and pastries. They’re not open on the weekends which is lame. They also have a really limited selection of sandwiches and don’t really modify them, so be forewarned. The soups are awesome but they’re not always in stock.
If they were more consistent with food I’d go more often. Some employees are super friendly and kind and others seem like they just want me to GTFO.

Sadly, this place is no longer our ‘go to’ for sandwiches and soup. The toasted sandwiches were soggy, black (from a dirty, overused grill) and tasteless. They were completely overpriced for the stuff that was served to us. Come on Zeppole! What’s happened to you? You used to be the best in town!

Food is great, would receive 5 stars on its own. I get the turkey and provolone sandwich (simple but tasty), the chicken Caesar salad on occasion, and the Ham and swiss croissant is divine. I also love their grilled cheese made fresh to order with tomato basil soup for dipping. That being said, it’s the most inconsistent restaurant I’ve frequented in the entire 11 years I’ve lived here. They have a set menu with a rotation of soups but it’s 50/50 at best if the soup they “always” have (tomato basil) will be in stock, or if they’ll have any at all, along with the rest of the menu. They seem to only have two employees at the downtown location, and they do their best, but it’s not well run by the owners. I could see occasionally running out of items or being short on staff, but it is the norm at this location. I’ve actually been grateful lately that they started putting up a sign when they run out of things or don’t have it to begin with, at least I know before going in that they don’t have what I want again.

The to-go goods are always great …. But I remember Zeppole being so much better than the last couple times I went there. I know they are trying to keep a lean staff, and hiring cannot be easy right now, but the sandwiches simply aren’t like they used to be and the service is a little spotty. Hopefully things right themselves once we begin to get back to normal.

Also, what is wrong with the exhaust fan? I really don’t like getting food at 9am and still smelling like a greasy kitchen at lunchtime.

That said.. Once again, the bread and baked items are as good as any place in the valley.

Zeppole is a fantastic place to get some fresh, local baked goods. The Village Round is simply the best bread they offer and I can never seem to find anything like it. They have other fantastic breads and such and I would consider them one of the best bakeries in Boise. My only suggestion for improvement would be personable customer service. I go in there almost every week and am hardly met with a smiling face or acknowledgement that they’ve ever met me before that transaction.

Love this place! Both Boise locations are excellent, we just go her now since it is closer. Wonderful bread as well as great sandwiches and soups and pastries in the cafe. My favorite bread is the Village Loaf, but the Kalamata Olive Ciabatta is something amazing and the Hot Cross Buns are a holiday treat!

Garbage service. I stopped by to grab short bread cookies. I asked how many she had and she said three in display case and a box of freshly delivered cookies. I asked her if she can give me the fresh cookies and she rudely said no. So I bought a week old short bread cookie that was dry, obviously lacking any quality that should have been adequate to sell. I asked if she can make an exception and she rudely said no. If she is the owner that will be the last time I go there. If she isn’t, she is setting a bad example for your bakery. 18 Oct

People come here for the excellent foccacia, but my money is on the dense yet slightly crisp peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. I am going to say that these are the best PB cookies in Boise. Single cookies or a bag of 4 to share with friends out on the patio. Also, the service is great. Since my peanut butter cookie addiction has started, the same 2 employees have been nothing but friendly to me.
