As someone who would know this beyond hyperbole, Zen is among of the best sushi in the southeastern US. The combination of execution, freshness, and value makes this place one of my personal favorites. The staff is very friendly and they have been consistently delivering high quality cuisine for a LONG time.

The food is nice and fresh. The wait time is neither too long or too short. The Asian inspired atmosphere really helps sell the authenticity. Their presentation and arrangements of the sushi are beautiful and pleasing to look at.

ZEN SUSHI I can’t describe how much I love Zen sushi. It is almost as a comfort for me. I find it so yummy and pleasant and the staff there are always so warm and welcoming Zen sushi is always fresh and delighting. It never disappoints my taste buds and is always there for me. I usually do takeout and whenever I do takeout it’s always ready as soon as I get there no way absolutely and the staff is always as kind as can be my order is always perfect and the price is a understatement of how good this food is. although it‘s location might not represent it’s culinary value it is always worth it to stop by and to try Zen sushi the parking is always available and never a wait.

Hamachi Kama! A tell tale example of a good Japanese restaurant is the dish that is crazy rich, fatty, and flavorful!
The spicy tuna hand roll (optional quail egg) was packed with tuna but lacked complexity.
All the fish was fresh and reasonably priced. The seaweed salad was great as well. Atmosphere was great and our waiter (Kien?) was super helpful and worked the room like a pro.
Will be back.

I’ve been going to Zen Sushi for a long time, maybe 20 years. My wife and I love it. The food is good, varied, and consistent with a wide range of dietary requirements. I always feel welcomed and valued–I’ve never had a bad meal.

my husband and i have been eating here for years. this place is the best. clean small and intimate and the same staff for years. they are very welcoming and the food is the best of any sushi place we have been to. and we have tried a lot of places. every time we compare it with zen and say we should have gone there instead. so we have stuck to zen.

We ordered as take-away six different options from their menu and one miso soup. The soup was savory and taste really good, can’t wait to have that again! The sushi was good and the service went smooth and pretty fast, no waiting line at all even if there were a lot of other people there! We’ll come back!

Foud a bone in my crazy tuna roll. Rice was poorly made and rolls fell apart. Escolar sushi was a little stringy and not very tender. Our server Ryan was fantastic and the best part of the experience. Not impressed, better sushi options elsewhere.

Zen Sushi is one of our favorite spots in Asheville. Tons of vegan options, and very friendly service. We go here at least once a month. Often busy, but the food is worth the wait.

Great sushi and miso soup. I sat at the sushi bar which is located right next to the door, so it was a little busy around me but I didn’t mind. I got one of the crunchy rolls and one of the specials (Scorpion Roll), which was amazing.
