Tried Zen5 for the first time with family and had a great experience. I really loved the freshness of the sashimi and the rolls we ordered—everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We started off with calamari and edamame and ended with ice cream with fried banana, which was fantastic. Overall, it was enjoyable for the whole family, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Super fast service. Didn’t seem too busy as they just reopened after having partly burned down. Happy hour is from 4-6pm on most apps which was nice. Sashimi was super fresh and big servings. Garlic edamame was fresh thick garlic bits which I appreciated. Gyoza was just solid. Sushi was all very good their crunch roll was different from most with batter all the way around the roll, was great. Was $95 after tip for a feast for 2 people. Quality experience I’ll be back!

Food is always excellent! Prices are great ( 50% off sushi rolls all day ) Alex our waitress was so kind and charming! Favorite sushi spot ever! They have some parking spots in front and I LOVE that they play old reggae songs besides the fact is next to our house! Great spot for couples or big parties! Don’t think, just go!

Will definitely come back. The fish is fresh and the food is tasty. The service is friendly and welcoming. Can never go wrong with Japanese food. Plus they are opened till 10pm on Fridays, hard to see that in San Diego.

Great, small sushi restaurant in a fun part of town. I have a shellfish allergy. At first they messed up my order, but they were super nice about fixing it. Everything was great: bento box, oyster shooters, udon, and sushi. Literally something for everyone.

This was our first time at Zen 5 and it was fantastic! We were on the fence between a few of the rolls, so we asked our server which rolls he liked. He recommended the Rob roll, so we got that one and it was a great choice! All the rolls were fresh and flavorful! They had reggae playing at a nice volume. Loud enough to enjoy but not so loud that you couldn’t conversate. We will definitely be back.
