Stopped into Zeitman’s Grocery Store in Bryan and had a bit of a mixed experience.
My wife ordered the Lox of Love on a cheese bagel with plain cream cheese, and she absolutely loved it. It was stacked high with smoked salmon and capers that had the perfect salty bite. Fresh, balanced, and exactly what you want from a deli-style spot. That one was a win.
I went with the Reuben, which came highly recommended. Unfortunately, it was the worst Reuben I’ve ever had. The corned beef was dry and completely lacking flavor. The sauerkraut was the only thing that made it eatable. That was disappointing, especially with how jam-packed the place was.
The staff was great — friendly, attentive, and working hard. The atmosphere had a good buzz to it. Maybe it was just a one-time miss in the kitchen. Because of the Reuben, it lands at three stars for me, but we would give it another shot if we’re back in Bryan.

Cute little shop would call a deli not grocery. Ordered the corned beef on rye, not on the menu but a ruben without the extra. Yada yada. Staff was pleasant. I also left with s muffin and slice of bread.
Muffin- moist and yummy, not overwhelming lemon or blueberry. But very yummy.
Slice of bread- a brown bread oddity do not recommend.
Corned beef- moist, good flavor and large portion. I think the bread should be thicker and not toasted,, my 2 cents.
That said, would go again, would recommend.

Crowded, delicious… I had lox- amazing. Husband had Ruben- delish. Kiddo had pizza- good but $20 bucks and wasn’t that big. They were having trouble with the cash register system so staff was a little annoyed but still friendly. Will definitely be back.

Food: Pretty average I would say. The bagel is not on the thicker side but it is chewy. Flavor was good but nothing amazing.
Service: A bit slow but kind staff.
Atmosphere: Indoor seating although it’s on the smaller side. Liked how they had other baked goodies that looked good but did not taste.

Awesome deli in downtown Bryan. The lox bagel was amazing and they loaded it with lox cream cheese. Everything was so good and portions were huge Definitely stopping my next time I’m in town to pick up some more bagels and cream cheese!

After ordering from a delightful cashier we got our drinks and sat down at a table to wait 28 minutes on our food (two sandwiches). One my better half had enough waiting she walked to the counter where our food was left out and no number called.. My $15 meatball sub (mearly a hoagie roll with a few meatballs in it) had congealed into a small glob.. Won’t be back for a meatball roll any time soon. Lesson learned.

So disappointed with my first & only visit here. I was very excited to find a highly rated bagel shop right here in Bryan, I had no idea! We live 45 minutes away and made the trip in for my “cheat day” because I absolutely love a good, fresh bagel. We got there at 11am and they were completely OUT OF BAGELS! They’re open till 3 PM, so it’s not like we came at the end of the day and we’re expecting something unreasonable. It’s a bagel shop! They were out of bagels at 11 AM. That is just unacceptable. On top of that the place is, exceedingly small and crowded and not particularly well organized in any way. We stayed anyway and ordered our sandwiches on sourdough instead and they were completely unimpressive. My pork roll and egg sandwich was not tasty. The bread was barely toasted, the eggs were overcooked, and the Taylor ham was not nearly enough. Even with two eggs, it only filled about 2/3rd’s of the bread. The corned beef on the Reuben sandwich was dry and there was not enough sauerkraut or dressing. Again, the whole thing was below average. Very disappointed by this entire experienced. Only highlighted by the pillow in the window we saw on the way out that said “you can’t be sad when you have bagels“. Well, Zeitman’s Grocery… I’m sad.

Had the chance to attend a breakfast networking event here and was seriously impressed. The breakfast bagel and coffee were both amazing, and the staff made the whole place feel welcoming right away. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — the kind of local spot you want to keep coming back to. I also know the owner, Blake, personally and he’s always been someone who does things the right way. Great experience all around.

Have had their Rueben sandwich and bagels. Rueben is definitely one of the best I’ve had and bagels are definitely a step above your average bagel. Had the blueberry, plain, and cinnamon toast ones. All of them very good. Definitely recommend this place and quickly becoming a favorite of ours here in Bryan/College Station.

My family and I visited Zeitman’s Grocery Store this past Sunday morning and, unfortunately, had an experience that left us very disappointed. My wife and I have both been to Zeitman’s before, and as members of the Bryan Ambassador Program, we try to do all our early morning dates and about 80 percent of our date nights downtown. Sadly, this visit has changed our opinion of this particular spot. Normally I would give a business the benefit of the doubt, but after two days of thinking on it I just can’t accept the fact that my wife and I were disrespected in a way that frankly I wouldn’t be ok with from a random person on the street, much less someone I’m looking to purchase something from.
We arrived with our two kids, my mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, excited to share one of our favorite local spots. When we approached the counter to order, the employee taking our order seemed visibly annoyed and dismissive from the start. While I managed to order for myself and my oldest son without too much issue, things took a turn when my wife began to place her order.
She simply asked if they offered anything like a breakfast sandwiches — a reasonable question considering the layout of the menu could easily cause confusion. The cashier abruptly responded, “These are all breakfast sandwiches,” in a sharp, impatient tone. Trying to clarify, my wife then asked if the Richie Rich came with just bacon. The cashier snapped back, “They all come with eggs and cheddar cheese on it.”
My wife, annoyed at this point replied that the menu didn’t specify that information. Instead of clarifying calmly, the cashier loudly insisted, “Yes, it does!” Frustrated but composed, my wife said, “Never mind, I’m okay,” and began to step away. At that point, the employee continued shouting across the busy shop, “I’m just trying to help you,” still with the same attitude drawing unwanted attention and making the entire situation uncomfortable for everyone present.
This exchange not only embarrassed my wife in front of our family and other customers but also completely soured what should have been a pleasant Sunday breakfast. Customer service is about creating a welcoming atmosphere especially in a small, community-oriented establishment. Instead, we left feeling disrespected and unwelcome.
Unfortunately, this interaction lost the business of six people that day, and likely for good. We genuinely hope the owners address this issue so that future customers receive the friendly service that local businesses like Zeitman’s are known for, because this was not it.
