What an amazing coffee shop!! When I say that i love ” coffee shop ” this is what I mean! I’ve been to so many coffees around the world, japan, france… and Zed’s cafe is definitely what I am waiting for from an American coffee shop
The food is super good and made with love the personal is so lovely too!
I love the few interactions I had there 🙂
Beware tho, like a real coffee place service is not really fast so come only if you’re here to chill and spend your time slowly
I’ll be back again!

If you’re looking for a cozy, comfortable, and warm environment to have delicious coffee and filling food, look no further! Zed’s Cafe is the only place I’ve found which perfectly blends a relaxing ambiance fueled by the soft jazz playing in the restaurant, excellent service, and affordable prices all in one. Not to mention that you will always be greeted with a smile by the owner. Absolutely visit if you find yourself near Georgia Ave!

Definitely a hidden gem. Found this café looking for a breakfast spot. The gentleman behind the counter was kind and patient as we figured out what we wanted. I had the smoked salmon sandwich which came with chips and a salad and a latte. The sandwich, salad, and coffee were delicious even if not a typical breakfast combo. Everything we ordered was made to order but the wait time was respectable and gives time to enjoy the eclectic decor. Would absolutely go back again.

I loved the decor and how it felt like someone’s kitchen. It’s surly a great place to have cup of coffee anytime of the day. They also have a nice breakfast selection; the smoked salmon sandwich that I had was pretty good. The coffee was too much on the milky side for me but otherwise good stuff.

I love this little place. I really do. Prices are reasonable (americano for $2.50!) and its just so stinking adorable. The only thing is I’ve come by several times when it was supposed to be open but wasn’t.

Cute place! Antique shop meet cafe. The cashier was friendly. There was some relaxing music playing in the background – it has the potential to be a great place to sit and read a book/magazine. I only purchased a cup of tea and while it was tasty, $3.45 for a tea bag and some hot water seems a bit excessive.

I love this cafe, I come here for the food and atmosphere. It has a cute quirky vibe to it. I would suggest coming here in the early morning durning a weekday otherwise there will be a line. The coffee is good but the food out shines it.

An unplanned visit to this coffee shop. Ordered regular coffee and a slice of corn bread. Both were good.
Young man behind the counter is very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the music and decor. Looking forward to my next visit.

Silver Spring is blessed with a plethora of independent coffee shops. Keffa’s cafe(s) are justifiably famous, and Kaldi’s has an excellent kitchen and space. If you like paying more than you should, Bump n Grind is a good option.
But Zed? Zed makes his café special. One big living room is the motto, and he has made it live up to that,. He and his staff are always friendly and if you turn up often enough they will take the time to know you. The kitchen offers a reasonable selection at a reasonable set of prices and the pastries are second to none.
I recommend the iced tea, but they have a decent selection of hot teas. Apparently, the espressos can be a bit hit and miss, but I’ve never been unhappy. Prices are set and I’ve never seen more than one size, but you get a fair sized cup for your money. Easily comparable to Starbucks or Peets, our two local chains.
While I’ve never seen it at its busiest, there are rarely more than one or two staff present. The staff bring your drink and food to the table, which can slow things down at a lunch crowd, but the feeling of relaxation is good enough to make up for a wait.
There is wifi and curbside parking, and hidden in back a lovely outside seating area. Currently overlooking construction, but c’est la vie.
