First time I came I ordered the chicken salad bowl and it was just all right didn’t really have any flavor. My bestie ordered the lamb salad bowl and the lamb was very tender and tasted good.
The second time we came I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the steak shawarma wrap. They stuff the wraps really well so it’s worth the value but in terms of the taste it’s just not there. I was looking for something that was truly authentic in terms of Mediterranean cuisine but I just didn’t get those Mediterranean flavors and spices I was seeking. Disappointed.
The first time we came the herb fries came with feta cheese and now they are charging extra if you want the feta on there like what!!? And the fries were soft with no crunchy crispiness of a real French fry. Both times the fries were not crunchy and soggy/soft. Do not recommend.
We also tried the Autumn sweet and spicy carrot soup and although it had a nice carrot flavor it was way too sweet like someone dumped a whole bottle of sugar in there. If they make it less sweet it could actually be a great soup. I like that they topped it off with pumpkin seeds for some texture. But I couldn’t finish it cuz it was just way too sweet and definitely no hints of spice.
Overall if you want quantity then this is the place for you because they really do stuff it well with meat, they load it up so you’re definitely getting the value for what you pay for. However if you care about quality then this is not the place for you. The flavors are just not there. And for both of our wraps the meats were cold and they weren’t even warm. The pita itself wasn’t warm either. It is a large pita and it is soft but I expected it to be at least warm.
Also it comes with sauce but they don’t offer it to you unless you ask. They weren’t going to give us any sauce until I asked for it. And the only reason I asked for the garlic sauce for the wraps was because I read in another review that it goes well with the chicken shawarma wrap. Under the touch screen menu they don’t even have an option to order sauce on the side so it’s something you definitely have to ask for but they don’t make it known that you should be asking for it which I find odd.
Overall the only thing I can actually recommend from this place is the Lamb because it is tender and taste good. However I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here a third time unless I’m craving lamb which I never crave lol. So most likely will never return. They really need to work on the flavors for the meats because it really doesn’t taste like Mediterranean shawarma. Also for some of the sauces they offer a Mexican sauce/salsa which is weird given that it’s a Mediterranean restaurant. The cooks there are Mexicans or Hispanic so that’s probably why but still why are you serving Mexican salsa at a Mediterranean restaurant for Mediterranean food? Another odd thing about this place. There is also a language barrier as they did not understand English too well.
If you’re looking for true Mediterranean cuisine I would say go elsewhere. I was disappointed it wasnt appetizing eating a cold wrap and even more disappointing that it didn’t have those Mediterranean flavors and spices. All these people giving high reviews don’t know what real Mediterranean food really tastes like.
Also, my bestie and I both had upset stomach and flatulence, I think it’s from the sauce sitting out on the counter all day. I noticed the dressing for the salad and the hummus they put in the wraps and the other condiments they use were all out on the counter and not refrigerated. Imagine that sitting out for the entire day and putting it in on our food? Well that happened bc we both had symptoms after eating and we didn’t have it prior to eating the food.
The atmosphere is casual but welcoming, perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. It’s the kind of place you can return to again & again, knowing it will hit the spot every single time.
We ordered the fries, falafel wrap, shawarma wrap, and hummus dip. Everything was exceptional. The fries were flavorful and the purple dip that came with it was awesome. I don’t know what they do to their falafel, but it’s the best I’ve ever had and the pita was fluffy and fresh. The hummus is also great, and I’m sure I’ll get it every time I order from there. And the shawarma was also really good too.
Overall, everything was fresh, delivery didn’t take that long, and they serve huge portions no matter what you order. Whenever we order here we always have leftovers. Highly recommended!! One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood.
While we were dining, there was another customer who was very upset that she believed her order would not be ready by the estimated pick up time, and demanded to see a manager and a refund. In the end, they had her order ready two minutes early. The staff was very patient and courteous with her despite being berated.
