I tried Zaxby’s after seeing an online advertisement and ordered the Southern Fried Shrimp meal.
The food was pathetic and overly salty, including the fries, shrimp, chicken, and even the bread. The Diet Coke Zero also tasted off and had a strange smell.
Overall, the quality did not meet expectations. I am disappointed with this experience and would appreciate a refund.
-12:51 PM – I ordered my food online in the restaurant. It was expected to be ready at 1:10 PM per order confirmation. Granted, there was a small group in front of me but they all recieved their food within 15 mins from their order. It is also important to note that that group also waited for 10 mins before ordering and the restaurant was empty and the drive thru had about 3 cars total at that time.
-1:20 PM – I inquired about my order and they havent even started. At this point 29 mins have passed since the initial order and I was running late for an event, so I requested a refund. The cashier asked for the manager
– 1:30 PM – The manager came, 10 mins after I asked for a refund. Then she explained to me that only 2 supervisors were working (I also counted 5 employees in the back cooking). She said that she would issue me a refund in a few mins.
– 1:50 PM – After 20 minutes of being ignored, the manager decided to cancel my order and issued my refund. This was after me complaining and threatening to post this complaint.
This was by far the worst fast food customer service I’ve ever encountered in the Charlotte Metro area. I also plan to report this poor customer service to their corporate office. The manager spoke to me and told me she had to cancel this order to refund me but instead of just refunding me, she went back to fry chicken while I waited for 30 mins. I believed that she didnt care and at that point and at the time, I felt like she deliberately made me wait. I was in this facility for over an hour and I ended up 30 mins late for my event. This was redicilous and inexcusable. I would avoid this restaurant and I also told my daughter who was with me at the time, to remind me of this horrible service if I ever think about stopping to Zaxbys out of convenience. I will also contact their corporate office and explain the entire story as well. Zaxbys need to do better!
P.S. Regarding their note justifying my refund, I ordered when I arrived in the restaurant so it was not early nor they were “just about to make” this order.
Take the extra minutes and go to Slim Chickens or Dave’s Hot Chicken.
