A local Pilar that keeps going strong. It’s been a while since we visited so we made the trip out. The chipotle bean dip is fabulous and a paired match with the chips. The red posole lean tender meat with a flavorful broth. Best description is demure. It’s tasty but not over spiced. The chorizo eggs and beans made wifey smile. Try the chile verde. We don’t have it this time but it’s always phenomenal. Service is friendly and place is always full of smiling locals.

My first visit here. Had carnitas with 2 eggs, beans, and potatoes. The menudo also looks good. Chorizo was tasty not like store bought. Service was excellent. Would come again.

5 stars all around! Food was spectacular and service was as well. This was our first time here and they even gave us samples to try. Chips we fresh and delicious. The waitress was the sweetest lady. I think her name was Berta. Food was amazing. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

My husband ordered pozole with pata (you have to request the pata) he says that the pozole was insipid and the ground chili available on the table did not help. He says it was not chile de árbol, so it was not spicy at all. He recommends they check what chile they are using. I ordered Chicharrones divorciados and we asked for more chips because they were really good. The salsa for the chips is good and kid friendly. Too bad their aguas frescas are not made there, they are from a mix. Service was attentive and friendly.

Great authentic Mexican food. They use fresh ingredients and their service is exceptional. I like how the owner and his son will stop by your table and ask about your meal or just to say hello. My friend had the mole which she let me try. I’m definitely ordering the mole enchiladas next time. On my last visit I had their tacos which were great!!! I previously ate at one of their special brunches that highlighted Hatch green chilies.

Location: Decent, Parking: Decent, Service:Okay, Presentation: Nice, Busy: Kinda ( before lunch crowd), Established Clientele: Yes ( Some for years) , Overall: For me this was a first time try. For the person I was there with, this is one of her favorite Mexican restaurants when she is in Pico Riviera. She loves the mole here and was pushing pretty hard to stop by. The place was not as busy as I thought I felt maybe we were early before the lunch crowd. They did seat us pretty fast and gave us the usual chips and salsa. The chips had a bit of flavoring, which made them a bit better than many of the others. The salsa was decent and worked well with the chips. My requestor knew exactly what she wanted, and after a second, I wanted something with mole. Here is where there was a few minor hiccups. The dishes (I felt ) took a bit long for the number of people there. Many had their dishes, so the Delay was a question. Then they got my order wrong, which was also a bummer, but it was fixed pretty fast. The meal from my guest was great and she was a happy customer. I will admit the meal was good, but nothing really stood out. I ordered the 3 enchilada dish with 1 red, 1 green, and 1 mole. The red and the green almost tasted the same and did not have as much spice as I hoped to make them different. The Mole was nice and not very strong, which was okay for me and perfect for my guest. So would I go back. If I am in the area, sure, I would try it again. But to drive out to eat because it is a main mission? My guest, yes, me I have a few places closer that I would like to try again before I wish to fight the traffic to eat here. They have a strong client base, so they will be around for a long time. I give them 3.5 stars…

I had a good experience the first time. Today, there were two different plastic particles in the beans. I told the waitress and she was persistent that it was from the garlic. Bottom line it was plastic and the waitress never apologized or acknowledged the issue. Had she acknowledged then I would not be writing this review. Poor customer service and business etiquette!
