We had a great experience,Our server, Alejandra, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She even suggested a dish for my wife, which turned out to be excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend

This is an exceptional place, offering a very pleasant atmosphere and truly authentic Mexican cuisine. The sauces and seasoning stand out for their freshness and natural flavors. I recommend it without hesitation.

Hello,

I’m writing to share feedback about a recent dining experience that was disappointing due to service, specifically from one of the waiters named Rodrigo, not food quality.

The food itself was very good. Unfortunately, the service made the experience uncomfortable and left us feeling rushed towards the end.

Throughout the visit, there were several small comments that made it obvious the focus was on pushing us to spend more money rather than on hospitality. For example, a remark was made suggesting we “invite more people” simply because only my wife, son and I were dining, which felt unnecessary and awkward.

When we asked for one quesadilla, we were told we had to order three. Im guesing ao the so the charge could be “justified.”? This came across as rigid and transactional rather than accommodating. Additionally, our bill was taken away before we I left the table and before we were ready to leave, which felt tacky and rushed.

I understand that restaurants need to manage costs, and many establishments encourage additional orders — but attitude matters. In this case, the comments and approach significantly detracted from what could have been a great experience.

I wanted to share this feedback because the food was excellent, but the demeanor and etiquette came short that it would make us hesitant to return.

Thank you for taking the time to review this.

Zapata is a hidden gem that doesn’t rely on flash or gimmicks—just bold, honest Mexican cooking that hits where it counts. The chicken enchiladas? Pure comfort. Tender, flavorful, smothered in just the right amount of sauce with enough heat to remind you you’re alive. They don’t overdo it—they nail it.

And the Horni Margarita… good lord. That thing packs a punch. Smooth, citrusy, just the right amount of tequila-fueled danger in a salted glass. It’s not just a drink—it’s a declaration.

Service is fast and friendly, like they actually care you showed up. No frills, no fluff—just damn good food and drinks made with soul. Zapata is the kind of place you come back to, again and again. Five stars, easy.

I arrived for my reservation at 7:30pm on a Saturday. There was no wait, even though the restaurant seemed pretty crowded. We were instantly given chips and salsa and a free quesadilla. Throughout the night the wait staff was incredibly attentive and kind.

However the food and drinks were lacking a bit. I ordered a Cadillac margarita (which is generally higher quality) but it was absolutely horrible. It tasted unauthentic and a little freezer burnt somehow? I’m not sure.

The food also came out about 5 mins after ordering. I ordered guacamole and chicken fajitas. Clearly everything is already made in the back which was a little bit disappointing.

The whole experience lasted a half hour.

Food tasted okay, but I probably won’t be coming back.

My husband and I went to Zapata’s today for lunch/ dinner. Everything was delicious. I had a classic margarita so good and he had white sangria. Followed by the ceviche Zapata and for the main course lobster tail with fish fillet. For dessert we had tres leches cake and ice cream with cinnamon tortilla chips.
Everything was outstanding from the food to the waiters to the staff. We even got complimentary cheese quesadillas while waiting for our main course. The atmosphere is so nice it reminds me of Mexico at Epcot.

We definitely will be going.back. I can highly recommend this to anyone who loves Mexican food.

Great place for quality Mexican food. The atmosphere is interesting with custom pieces everywhere that distinguishes is from a typical Mexican themed restaurant. The combination platters are very good and the portions are decent. I decided to try the desert one day and I was not disappointed and the portion was better than the actual meal. Would recommend if your looking for Mexican an in the area.

Great food. The servive could have been better but honestly it wasn’t bad, just forgetfulness. The food was amazing. The restaurant furniture is very nice.

Ordered the Coctel de camarones at this Mexican restaurant and got some sort of shrimp cocktail sitting on a bed of old shredded lettuce and few slices of bell pepper, topped with cocktail sauce. If you’ve ever had a real Coctel de camarones, you will be sorely disappointed. Shrimp was overcooked for a regular shrimp cocktail btw. Definitely would not have ordered it had we known it isn’t authentic, especially not for the price point $17. Funny enough when we asked in surprise that this is a Coctel, the server slinked away and just said provecho… our waiter didn’t even come by to ask how everything was. Hence, service was ok.

Suggestion is renaming the dish or change the recipe to be fitting for the cuisine.
