I was happy to see so many gluten free options. Right before I ordered the server helped another guest get noodles. Some fell out of the bowl so she picked them up with her hands. When I went to order my food I told the server I needed gluten free. I expected her to change her gloves especially since she just touched noodles but she didn’t. And then proceeded to touch the inside of the bowl. I understand no restaurant is 100% gluten free and there’s always a risk of cross contamination. However most every restaurant changes their gloves when an allergy is mentioned.

One of the servers, the one who started my order was amazing, But the second server needs to get trained in customer service. I got there at 8:30pm (they close at 9pm), got a bowl and was exhausted and hungry from work, needed 20 minutes to get some food, but he asked me to watch time because they close at 9pm, so basically told me to eat fast and leave. I worked at Zao before and this was never taught by our superiors, this has to be addressed to the servers. Thanks

I wanted to share some honest, constructive feedback. I almost didn’t stop here today because from the outside the restaurant looks closed. It was dark inside, most of the lights appeared off, and there isn’t a clear “OPEN” sign. The only indicator seemed to be a green lighted bowl, which isn’t very obvious if you’re not already familiar with it.
With it getting dark earlier now, this could easily cost you business. I genuinely thought you were closed and only came through because I double-checked. I even mentioned this to the employee in the drive-through, but it didn’t seem to register, so I wanted to share it here in case the owner sees it.
My suggestion would be to brighten the interior lighting or add a clear, visible OPEN sign so people know you’re welcoming customers. I imagine others may be driving by and assuming the same thing I did.
Just sharing this as helpful feedback, not a complaint. A small change could make a big difference.

Zao Asian Café has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a fresh, high-quality meal! Every dish we ordered tasted incredibly fresh, from the perfectly seasoned proteins to the crisp vegetables and flavorful sauces. You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients—everything tasted clean, vibrant, and thoughtfully prepared.
On top of the amazing food, the customer service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very quick to get our order ready. Special shoutout to Miguel, who went above and beyond to make our visit great. He was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find that level of service and genuine care these days, and Miguel absolutely delivered.

I was really craving Asian food and my friend had recommended this place. I got one of their bowls with Yaki soba noodles and steak. The flavor is really good and I really enjoyed my food. I think it’s hard to find a place that has all the flavors well balanced and this place has got them. Their drinks are really good. I tried the Thai Mango and really enjoyed it. However, I do feel the portions are small for the price I paid. I paid over $15 for the bowl and a fountain drink. I didn’t get full with the bowl and I’m a pretty small person. So if you’re really hungry this might not be the place for you. The girl preparing my bowl was so greedy. She literally picked only three small cilantro leaves for my bowl. I would go back if they weren’t so greedy. Maybe it was just my bad luck with the person serving that day at that time.

I love the noodle bowls at Zao. They are always good healthy meal with lots of flavor. I always get the Tiger Sauce, which isn’t on the menu, but every location has known how to make it.

I love eating here! The chicken rice bowl with yellow curry is my favorite but I’ve had their salad and their soup as well and those were good too. Make sure you get it the Zao way so you get it will all the toppings.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. Ordering was fine and went quickly. I ordered a bowl with noodles, broccoli and chicken with teriyaki sauce. I wish I could say it was delicious. It was actually extremely unpleasant and nearly unpalatable. The broccoli and noodles were burned so badly the taste of the entire bowl was ruined. I couldn’t taste anything other than that, even with extra sauce.
We came around 8:30 on a Friday. About 5 bites in, I decided I couldn’t eat the meal and spoke to a staff member who apologized and was very friendly, but said they were closing and couldn’t remake the meal because they were cleaning equipment.
We left disappointed and felt like it was a waste of money.
