The food is very delicious, me and my dad love to come here after he picks me up from the train station. Usually we only see one person inside but we don’t mind waiting. For a small place it’s quite cozy, we like the silence and simplicity of the place, especially if you are looking for a quiet spot to wind down for a bit while snacking on a delicious sandwich. But my favorite part is their un-official mascot/greeter… A small, fluffy white dog who loves to greet any new customers who walk in, either asking for pets or a small nibble of food but never causes any mischief or problems haha. As I was reading past reviews I don’t understand why people are too harsh to criticize? Some are understandable while others are straight up exaggerating. If you are judging by the food or service? Then it’s understandable, not everyone likes the same things or aren’t as patient as they would admit/have busy lives. But if you are judging by how the place looks or the dog? Either you are an animal hater or expect too much from a place that isn’t meant to look like an expensive, “fancy” restaurant… It’s literally a sandwich shop, not a 5 star French restaurant. I don’t know what’s the store owners story, but overall he is very nice and I would suggest trying his food at least once before judging too quickly!

Some of the other reviews here, sheesh. The place has been there for over 20 years, I recently started going here after moving back to Elmhurst, the owner is a pretty cool dude, yeah there is a dog there, it’s tiny and super friendly. I think the sandwiches are great! Always fresh ingredients and bread. You can’t get a better sandwich for the price! There always seems to be people picking up large orders. I definitely will be returning!

I walked in one rainy day, and I never have been to this deli store, and I asked the man for a tunafish sandwich. It was the best tunafish sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. The bread was fresh. The tuna fish was fresh, the seasonings, he put Italian seasonings on this tuna fish sandwich, I will specially go to Elmhurst to eat this food. It is so good you need to try this place.

Do not come here. If you like a counter deli with great subs, go to Ozzie’s. This place is disgusting. I assume it’s some kind of money laundering cover. It’s never open. The foods is subpar. The dog laying on the floor is a 10/10.

Not clear why I am writing the first review, but if it’s any indicator my girlfriend and I were the only patrons on a Sunday afternoon. We both had broccoli and cheese soup and an Italian sub. Both were average at the least, service was swift. It was a little eerie eating in a quiet shop but what do I care? This is conveniently located for me – I’ll be back.

Sandwiches that are more than worth their price. Fresh bread, great quality cheeses/meats and fresh salads…. Better than that Bologna place…
