Zack’s is located in a historically rich section of Hoboken. Zack’s corner building was constructed in the late 1880’s and originally housed a grocery store catering to the diverse immigrant population. When the commercial property was converted to a tavern in 1892, the current mahogany and oak bar was installed and it soon became a hub of activity, specifically for merchants and sailors stopping at the bar on their way home or to a SRO (single room occupancy). Keeping with its rich history, Zack’s has maintained its old world charm and appeal, preserving original tin ceilings, the oak bar, replicating the 19th century tiled floor, and adorning the walls with street scenes of old Hoboken. The result, a classic feel with modern execution.

I got to visit and eat with my friends there two days ago, I must say that this restaurant is charming and have a lovely vibe. The food was excellent and quite affordable for the taste and portion. If you are in Hoboken, you should definitely try it out.

This was our third visit and probably our last. Great cocktails, very nice server, but the food is only ok. Definitely not equal to the price point. They also are not family friendly. We have a three month old and could only sit outside with her stroller (fine; nice day) but I had to change my daughter on the floor of the bathroom. So I guess we won’t be back until she’s out of diapers, if at all.

One of my favorite nights in Jersey took place here! Everything was delicious! My group was actually walking to another restaurant and we passed by this one and decided to check it out. The customer service was superb. The waitress was attentive and efficient. I had a large group so we were able to try a lot of different menu items. To start, we had Mac & cheese..it was baked and cheesed to perfection! We also had the burrata and mushroom soup which were also excellent! I personally had the Steak and Fries as an entree and it was cooked perfectly and fries were so addicting the whole table kept coming back to the plate. We also had the Willow sandwich and of course their popular stuffed chicken! I’m not sure what they put in their sauce but it’s darn good! We split a bottle of Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon which was divine. Love this place!

A classy place with friendly staff and delicious food. Didn’t have reservations and though it was pretty full, yet got a 2 seat table right away. Our sever was very friendly and courteous by not rushing us into ordering food. We ordered drinks and took our time to savor them and enjoy the evening.

So I met a friend of mine for brunch here. I made my reservations online for 12:30pm. When I arrived I parked on the street fairly quickly. I walked up and the hostess greeted us and sat us. She sat us in the corner inside and said there is a 90 minute limit for tables. Mackie was our server and she was nice. For my drink I ordered a spiked coffee drink and my friend ordered a mimosa. The drink wasn’t bad, didn’t taste any liquor at all. For my entrée I ordered the chicken and waffles and my friend ordered the salmon salad special. My meal wasn’t bad at all, I liked the waffles more than the chicken. My friend said her salad was good, she just wished there was more dressing. The bill for me came to about $31. We had a pretty decent time all in all.

The food and ambiance is always great. Service was a little slow for Sunday brunch. However the food made up for it! We had the farmer’s breakfast and the eggs Benedict- super tasty. The home fries had a nice surprise to them.. they were mixed in with sweet potatoes!! ( not my partners favorite) But I thought they were so delicious! The mimosas were alright.
