Food (the good): The menu was quite expansive with lots of unique dishes. The Tom Yum Rice was unique and flavourful. The Khao Soi Soft Shell Crab which was recommended by staff was a standout. Appetizer Miang Kham was good but I’d skip on the shrimp sticks and shrimp cakes.
Food (the bad): The drinks tasted fairly weak/diluted. The desserts weren’t what I expected from a more upscale place as 2 of the 3 featured the same machine coconut soft serve and it was quite icy. I was most excited for the Goong Ob Woon Sen , but the prawns had a mushy texture, the squid rubbery and the vermicelli was quite dry.
Service/Atmosphere: Our server was lovely. However there wasn’t a lot of excitement, from both the staff (ie: to seat us, to tell us about the menu) and the other patrons. There were at least 5 tables when we arrived and it was still extremely quiet. I saw a local influencer and likely friends of the restaurant so I wonder if that affected it. The doors were open the entire time which caused inside to be quite cold as well. I imagine the service/atmosphere will improve over time, but I definitely expected the opening week to be more lively.
I think in summary this would be a reasonable average Thai restaurant, worth a try if you like exploring new restaurants.
The space inside is small. We were sat near the door and it was FREEZING. Everytime someone opened the door a gust of cold wind blew in. Lots of people were wearing their jackets inside so I feel like the restaurant should have cranked up the heat!
The food is pretty decent. I liked the pad see ew and the grilled pork! Papaya salad was also delicious with added on chicken skin. I was disappointed there was no coconut rice and only plain rice. We also had some hot Thai tea to keep us warm.
When we asked for takeout containers and the bill, the server made the weirdest comment asking us to leave after we pack our food. Like of course we are going to leave? Why else would we pack our food and pay for the bill! I think the service here could be better.
Really authentic Thai taste, the best of the best in Vancouver. It’s been along time we’ve been wanting to try Zab Bite, but didn’t get the chance as it’s hard to get the reservation. But now, we celebrate our friends’ bd together. Have tried set menu for 8 persons, $40 per pax. Food is more than enough. We got back with happy tummy
Happy to find another good Thai restaurant in Vancouver.
We tired Pad See Ew and loved it.
Grilled pork jowl is good too.
Crispy pork toast is a bit oily and Stir fired Thai holy basil with minced pork is normal.
Overall we enjoyed the lunch. Reservation is recommended otherwise might be difficult to get seat.
This time, not so much. We ordered the pad Thai with extra beef and the holy basil chicken with crispy grilled pork, plus a Thai milk tea. The Thai milk tea was actually really good — probably the highlight of the meal.
Unfortunately, the food itself was very disappointing. The holy basil chicken tasted very off — the chicken pieces were huge, the sauce barely coated anything, and there was just no flavor. Same issue with the pad Thai: it felt dry, under-seasoned, and like there wasn’t nearly enough sauce. It honestly tasted like they were trying to make it “healthy” instead of flavorful.
On top of that, we ordered pork sausage and never received it until after we had already finished eating and packed up our food. When it finally came out, the server asked if we wanted to eat it or pack it to go — which was frustrating, because checking whether we had even received the dish earlier would’ve avoided this altogether. I understand she was the only server, but that part was still pretty awful.
Overall, not the experience we remembered, and unfortunately not one we’d rush back for.
The restaurant is easy to find thanks to its bright orange exterior. The staff are friendly, and the service is impressively quick. It does get busy around dinner time, so I’d recommend making a reservation. We came mid-afternoon, and by the time we left, the place had already filled up.
As for the food, I personally found the flavors a bit on the mild side — I usually prefer the bold, intense punch of Thai spices and herbs. That said, the dishes were still well-prepared and enjoyable, likely appealing to a wider range of palates. My wife absolutely loved her meal, and the drink presentation was adorable.
The restaurant’s warm, inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for a casual date night. I’ll definitely be back the next time my wife is craving Thai food.
Very friendly staff service (both on the phone and the restaurant), and clean and bright place.
At first, we were not too sure about their food because it looked new and modern, so we thought it may not be so authentic.
But the food was absolutely delicious, very flavourful, great presentation.
The set we had came with appetizer/salad/soup/stir-fried noodles/grilled meat/side rice or Roti. (We had both)
Such a great 6 course meal to experience everything.
My favourite was the noodles, we added prawns with additional cost ($3), it’s so worth it. Sticky rice came in a cute bamboo basket, nicely cooked. I hate uncooked/overcooked/dry/wet rice. They were perfect here.
The soup was very flavourful, but not overly seasoned. Full of fresh ingredients in a bowl.
Even the condiments on the top of food and sauce were nicely prepared, all garnishes were fresh.
I had few Thai restaurants experience in Vancouver, and I would say this was the best I had. Definitely going back!
Oh, the Thai ice was great as well!
*reservation highly recommended!! There are not many tables, and they are very busy.
