While the food we ordered was good, the service was poor. Very slow, hardly any attention given to us besides to take the order and get us the check. Never even a “how are your meals?”. I noticed some portions were very generous, while some not so much. I paid #3.95 to add chicken to my pasta and got only two small pieces of chicken. My daughter also added chicken to her meal and got two very generous pieces of chicken. This isn’t the first time we’ve had slow service. We realize it isn’t fast-food, but seriously? We won’t be making a return visit.

A friend and I went to eat here with a coupon she had for a buy one entree get one free. There were no restrictions as far as the menu was concerned listed on the coupon; however, knowing how things usually go, we asked our server anyways. Our server replied that there were no restrictions other than the paid meal must be a higher price than the free meal. Pretty standard.
The food and atmosphere were nice. No complaints there. When the waitress brought our bill, we were very surprised when she told us that there in fact are restrictions on the BOGO coupon, our meals did not qualify, and that we would have to pay full price. We were furious, but paid the bill. This business practice is utterly inexcusable and deserves attention in the form of a poor review in my opinion.
Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Best place in Minnesota to get a deep dish pizza. I’ve gone here plenty over the years and I’ve never had an issue. The staff is usually very friendly and professional, and the food tastes great. The St. Louis Luau and Creme de la Creme are amazing and I would definitely recommend giving those a try.

Great food and atmosphere, but service is not desirable. Also, ordered spinach artichoke appetizer
with gluten free crackers. A decent size bowl of dip with about 10 small crackers. We were out of crackers with over half the dip left. I asked for more crackers which we got. When we got the $130.00 bill, we noticed they added $1 for extra crackers. It’s only a dollar, but it’s the principal of the matter.
If someone spends $130.00 at your restaurant, a few extra chips won’t kill you. It sucks because the food is really good, but I don’t think we will return. Also, no relation to Previous review by Amy Gould.

We came up from the cities to buy a car and stopped here for lunch. What a great choice! Food was amazing and at a great price. Great selection of local beers on tap and the service was even better. From the front of the house to the back, they make sure you’re getting the best. We’ll be back to forest lake just to come here for dinner. Thank you!

I purchased 3 different pasta meals. Tried a little of each. I am by far not a picky eater. But I threw all three out after trying – no leftovers this time. Hi love just about any pasta and I figure how can you go wrong with pasta. But I thought this was awful. What a waste of $50 – not to mention the servings are not large and it is pretty spendy. Perhaps there are people out there that have a taste for this type of Italian – but I certainly am not one of them. Hopefully their pizza is better than their pasta, but I will never go there again to try it.

Really bummed out. This used to be my favorite place to go and get the Parm Chicken. The server’s were always super polite and really helpful. My husband and I went in for our anniversary and the host didn’t even greet us, he just asked if it was just us two. This was after we stood there for a minute waiting, the place was empty also… The service just wasn’t the same. Heard the managers cell phone ring loudly, then moments later saw him talking on his phone smoking a cigarette right outside the window we were eating at. The thing that bummed us out the most though was that the dish we order every time we visit changed and it wasn’t as good. I don’t think we’ll return after tonight’s visit. I felt like we were treated like someone in a McDonalds.

Very much love this restaurant and it is one of our regular stops.
After dinning at LaBelleVie in downtown Minneapolis the night before we again thoroughly enjoyed our dinners at ZA! Delicious and tasty were the CheeseTortellini with Black Tiger Shrimp and the Capicollo (ham) Slurp. We always find the service good and the meals presented are made to order. On a side note I find the steaks taste better than most “steak houses”.
Considering the cost was almost 4 times less than the bill at LaBelleVie, this would have to be rated a “BEST BUY” if I worked for Consumer Reports.
