The beef broth ramen is absolutely delicious and highly recommended! We also enjoyed the sushi, especially the yellowtail roll. While they don’t have a specific kids’ menu, we easily created a great meal for our child by ordering a mix-and-match of side noodles and grilled shrimp.
Lastly, the green tea ice cream was so good!

Came in Tuesday night just missing their happy hour (5-6:30p). There were two tables and a pair at the bar with me when I entered. Didntnwaitndor a seat but probably waited 12-15 minutes to place my order.

Spicy miso ramen + extra ramen.

Waited about 30 minutes for my food. About 3 minutes before my food was ready the chef at the bar finally acknowledged my food was almost ready.

A teenage girl as at the host stand and a teenage boy was serving.

Upon checkout with the boy I requested 10% off and he did. I asked him if he realized the food took 30 minutes and he replied our kitchen was busy, which it did become.

But I think some simple training especially for how to clear the table cause the young girl was hoovering over me waiting to refill my water and clear my table after and honestly if management told them to just take 10% off without prompt or even a side of edimame when they realized the kitchen became slammed would’ve gone a long way.

Small $3 gestures go a long way.

I can imagine on a weekend this place may be a nightmare to get good service.

3 stars for today. I’ll come back on a weekend and see if I’m proven wrong.

Score chart:
5 stars for obove and beyond
4 stars for meeting and beating what should be expected
3 stars for dropping the ball
2 stars for bad food / service
1 star for never return / never come here

Yuyake Dandan Izakaya was a fantastic discovery for izakaya-style Japanese food. The Zuwaigani Crab Chawanmushi was phenomenal, and the fish was exceptionally fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. The only downside was that the seating was a bit cramped, which made it feel somewhat uncomfortable.

I love Izakaya’s and I love Japan having both traveled the county as a tourist, (several trips of 2 weeks) and having lived in Japan for 3 months twice so I am quite familiar with Izakaya food and sushi. This place is really great and hits on so many marks.

The softshell crab appetizer was the bomb. It arrived hot and juicy.

We got our greens on with a seaweed salad was nicely dressed and the perfect temperature.

The honey mustard salmon was absolutely divine. The salmon melted in my mouth and the dressing was tangy and delicious.

The rolls were tried were off-the-hook fresh. We had the tuna roll with avocado, and the hot soul roll. The rice texture was perfect and the ratio of fish to rice was impressive.

We ended with the agadadhi tofu which was truly awful. Simply dreadful. It was bland, and had no crispiness. The tofu texture was also off. I love agadadhi tofu, bummer.

This place has very reasonable prices for very high quality food. In San Francisco, we would have paid $150 for a meal of similar quality. I think our bill came to $85.00, a true value.

Regarding the atmosphere, it’s highly unmemorable.

Service gets an A+. Lighting quick on a Saturday night and the place was packed. We will return.

Tucked away in a not so busy mall on weekdays is a gem of a Japanese restaurant!!! They have many tapas or appetizer sized meals and even yakitori bbq for around $4-9 a piece. Some of the yakitori like the rib eye is $4 each so it can get expensive quick. I suggest you take one of those and pair it up with their signature paitan ramen that has a beef bone base! If you pay extra you can also have the beef bone as well. Although on this occasion I think that was a little too filling so I didn’t order it. It looks to be that most of the staff and maybe even the owner are all Chinese speaking Mandarin but some at the sushi bardou speak fluent Japanese and even strike conversations up first with you in that language! Speaking of which, the sushi bar attendants were really nice and almost gave traditional bar service and conversation, just with sushi instead of beer which you can order as a pint or a whole sharable pitcher serving sapporo. If you’re sitting at the sushi bar you get to peer into the kitchen where they’re making the yakitori and other food they prepare for the diners in a really nice setting that blends western design and Japanese street fair vibes together! The only gripe is that there is no physical menu. Instead, you only can view the menu through a QR code which can be turn off for some people who may not be technologically inclined, at least the menu has a list generator so you can just have a list to give to the waiter when they’re ready or you’re ready… The servers or even the sushi bar attendants can take your order relatively fast and if there are any suggestions or recommendations they may have such as their Japan imported fish that is around $30. Like I mentioned before, I ordered the paitan ramen and It was really good and had a lot of flavor to it being a beef bone broth base! It had a little bit of peppery flavor and it was sweet in the end! I also had a ribeye yakitori that was really amazing with a nice peppery flavor and how well its cooked medium rare! I also had a newer thing on their menu which combined a fish paste with a little bit of shrimp inside and that was also incredible too! It’s not like tempura flakes but even more fine and really easy to eat paired with wasabi and the lemon for both of my non ramen dishes! Overall, I really enjoyed my dinner here and then would definitely want to come back to try more of their sushi or sashimi!

What I liked most about this place was the atmosphere and the green tea. We ordered the Traditional Paitan Ramen with Bone Marrow, Nori Agedashi Tofu, and Chicken Karaage. We really enjoyed the ramen dish, and the Chicken Karaage was okay, but we didn’t like the Nori Agedashi Tofu at all.

For being in the mall, I think this place is great! I got the seaweed salad, and one of their specialty rolls called Hot Soul Roll (tuna, tempura shrimp and jalapeno). The fish was fresh, mandatory for a sushi place, right? My friends all like what they got too.

Amazing restaurant! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, with a true Japanese vibe. The dishes are beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. The sushi and rolls were especially outstanding — the fish literally melts in your mouth. Service is top-notch: attentive, polite, and never intrusive. This is definitely a place you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine!

We are here to celebrate Fathers Day! For our family, this is the best sushi restaurant in Pleasanton! The menu includes many different items, so there are many options, even for those who don’t eat raw fish. My kids love the ramen and for me and my husband, we are here for the sushi. Food quality is excellent and portions are reasonable. Sushi fish is fresh and tasty. Our family also love the tapas…tonite we ordered the ankimo, chicken karaage, geso karaage. We also tried their uni icecream. It’s expensive but if you never have it before, I would say at least try it for once. It’s a very creamy icecream with a bit of salty uni aftertaste. Quite interesting! We highly recommend this restaurant!

First time eating here as we were looking for somewhere to eat. It was great, the service was prompt and friendly. The food was served freshly cooked and prepared. The waiter suggested a dish that we ordered and it turned out very good. No complaints. We will be back. I ordered yellow tail sashimi, plain ramen, gyoza, chicken karage, pork belly, beef skewers, sake, and there was something else.
