Established in 2020. The concept behind Yunomi Handroll is a quick service style restaurant serving the highest quality Japanese style handrolls and delivering a new experience that is truly unique and special. With only 24 counter seats, menu consists of a limited selection of sushi handrolls, select appetizers, hot teas, various sake, Japanese craft beers and wines served directly at our bar, in a comfortable and dynamic setting. The inspiration behind Yunomi has been the extensive study of Japanese traditional Washoku style hospitality and Omakase — chef’s choice style service. I’ve been coming to Yunomi for the past three to four years, and it has never missed. Every visit reminds me why this place is so special. The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, and no matter what hand roll you choose, you truly can’t go wrong — everything is excellent.
One of the standout aspects of Yunomi is the appetizers. They’re always on point and really elevate the overall experience. Even without calling out specific items, the quality across the menu is impressively consistent.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a place you immediately feel comfortable in. What truly sets Yunomi apart, though, are the people. Over the years, the staff has become close friends, and that genuine friendliness and care shines through every visit.

Really cool spot! The atmosphere is great and there’s plenty of space between seats, which makes it comfortable even when it’s busy. Customer service was friendly and attentive. One highlight for sure: the rock shrimp tempura — absolutely amazing!
The rest of the food wasn’t quite as flavorful as some other handroll places, but I believe they’re still improving since it’s a newer spot. They have a solid waitlist system and a good selection of sake and beer. Prices are decent too.
Just a heads up — they don’t carry change for cash, which can be a bit inconvenient. Hopefully that gets sorted in the future. Overall, a good experience and worth checking out!

I really enjoyed my experience at Younomi hand roll. The food was delicious overall, and I loved the modern, minimalist design of the place. I ordered four rolls — all were great except for the shrimp tempura, which was a bit disappointing.
One highlight was the impressive selection of sake — definitely a plus for sake lovers!
The only downside was at the end when we tried to pay: the server told us they don’t have change for $200 bills and advised us to come with a card next time. That was a bit inconvenient.

Yunomi is an amazing spot to grab fresh made handrolls. Be sure to join the waitlist otherwise you may be waiting a minute at peak times. Everything here is great and delicious, they even give you a timer for your green tea to steep properly. My only gripe is in their ratio, they are just a but heavy on their rice to fish ratio. You cant miss the Albacore on crispy rice, its Kanye’s favorite. My favorites are the negitoro and softshell crab. The yunomi special is also great, but recommend starting with this as it is very rich, but delicious. Cant recommend this place enough, please fill your tummy until they know you.

Younomi Handroll on Riverside Dr has become our absolute favorite spot in Toluca Lake. We go all the time, and it never disappoints. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are perfectly made, and the flavors are clean, simple, and so good.
It’s the one place we proudly bring all our friends and guests to try — and everyone ends up loving it just as much as we do. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and consistently delicious food.

The Yunomi Special is a must — spicy albacore, shrimp tempura, a little crunch, and that truffle soy… unreal. Blue Crab, Soft Shell Crab, Negi Toro — they’re all solid. Even the crispy rice apps are worth the trip on their own.
It’s the kind of place you can pop in for a quick bite or make a night of it. Everything’s clean, organized, and dialed in — down to the bag hooks under the counter.

One reason I really like this place is the fast service but you have to wait to get seated without reservation. Even if you joined the waitlist, you still have to wait when you get there so it’s kind of frustrating. But on the plus, once you’re seated, the service is quite fast from there on. Good freshly made handrolls and other items. The decor…Just my own opinion , i’m sure many loves it. The minimalist decor, I find it cold,dull and boring staring at a big gray concrete wall and kind of telling you that you need to go as soon as you’re done eating Which they literally are doing from what I’ve read. Everything was fine, and I thought I’d come back, UNTIL I WAS ASKED TO LEAVE because people were waiting in line—even though I was still in the middle of eating. It was a really unpleasant experience. Who asks a customer to leave while they’re still eating?
When I checked the time, I’d been there for only 1 hour and 3 minutes. We waited about 20-30 minutes for the food, ordered a second round, and spent around 30 minutes actually eating. That’s pretty reasonable for a meal, nowhere near long enough to be kicked out. Lots of restaurants guarantee customers at least 90 minutes to enjoy their meal, so this was a real bummer. If you’re looking to relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed or pressured to cut conversations short, this isn’t the right place. This was a birthday celebration with my friend and it got ruined. I don’t normally leave reviews, but I really had to for this place.
