Best Chinese food in town, no contest. I think it’s run by a husband and wife (which somehow makes it even better), and they absolutely nail it every time.
The food is always hot, fresh, and super flavorful. The chicken lo mein and yum yum chicken are our go-to orders and never disappoint. If you go for lunch you get soup with it too.
Plus, the classic 80s vibe inside is such a bonus — it’s calm, cozy, and feels like stepping into a little time capsule in the best way, so I hope they never update it!

I called for take-out. I’d never eaten nor heard anyone speak of the restaurant. When picking up, the bill was quite a bit higher than expected…, and then some. The food turned out to be excellent, all of it. Worth every penny. Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Quality, flavor, portion size etc. House special lo mein, fried shrimp, egg rolls, hot mustard, sweet & sour, fried rice, all of it exceptional.

Our family loves Yummy House! It is one of our favorite restaurants in East Idaho. The staff is great; friendly and timely service. The food is excellent. Highly recommend it. Some of our favorite dishes are walnut shrimp, salt & pepper shrimp, mapo tofu.

I live in California, and came across this gem while traveling.
The food i’ve tried is delicious, but their orange chicken is the best i’ve ever had! I have made a point of making my way through Idaho Falls, to stop in, 3 more times in the last year!
Check them out!

I had the vegetables with chicken. It came with choice of egg flower or hot and sour soup and Crab Rangoon. The soup was decent, I can’t eat Crab Rangoon due to a dairy allergy but it looked good. The entrée was delicious.

The service was prompt and food came out in a timely manner.

Be aware the do charge an extra 5% if you use a card.

Best place in Idaho Falls for Chinese food. The Chicken Pad Thai was amazing, along with the Singapore Rice Noodles. Atmosphere was a little dull but that didn’t affect the taste of the food to me.

Food was delicious!!! Service was very friendly. The seseme chicken had a flavorful and crisp coating. The chicken and vegetables were fresh and filling. Overall a great find in the middle of downtown IF. Parking was difficult, but it was worth the short walk to get there, even in the snow. We will definitely go again.

You have to hope your food will be good when the person leaving as you walk in says, “This is the best restaurant in Idaho Falls”. And honestly, Yummy House is definitely in our Top 3. Who knew this place would be such a gem?

Yummy House is a great place for good food and conversations. Both your and everyone else’s. When we dined in, it was a full house and we could hear everyone around us. Our waitress was very friendly despite the busyness and did a great job making sure no one was left waiting for drink refills.

The star of the show was definitely the food. My fiancé and I loved the General Tso’s Chicken! It had a great crunch without the chicken itself being dry and the sauce was packed with flavor. My egg flower soup was good — I added a dash of salt and some pepper — but that’s how I grew up eating it. The BBQ Pork Hong Kong Chow Mein was yummy too! I love crispy noodles so I order it every chance I get. The pork itself was a tad dry so I’ll probably try the House Special version next time. We also ordered beef & broccoli. Which, surprisingly, was our least favorite dish but it was still tasty!

The only downside — we tried to dine in last Friday and walked in around 8:30pm and were told the restaurant closed at 8pm. It was such a bummer because the menu and Google Maps said 9:30pm. If you’re looking for a place to dine a little later, I’d recommend calling first to verify hours.

Compared to the other Chinese restaurants in town, Yummy House takes the cake! I highly recommend checking it out.
