The food was amazing — every single dish was full of flavor and tasted so good. The portions were just right, too. The pork soup dumplings and Taiwanese sausage were especially delicious. The staff were all so warm and friendly, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Super excited that this place opened – all of the food we had here was amazing, but I was most impressed by the Yibin Dry Noodles and the Shrimp & Pork soup dumplings (though all of the different soup dumplings were amazing)! Staff was extremely friendly and the space was very welcoming. We will return!

We decided to try the restaurant after strong recommendations from many friends. The food was excellent! We like the menu options. Each dish can be modified based on your preference. The staff were friendly and attentive. Don’t forget to read the specials on the board near the door. We highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely return.

About time this placed opened! Absolutely blown away by this place. From the moment we walked in, the modern and clean ambiance set the tone for a great meal. The service was impressively quick without ever feeling rushed. The dishes came out hot, fresh, and fast. As part of their opening, they gave a cute stuffed animal, which was such a fun touch!

We started with the scallion pancakes, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft, savory, and not greasy on the inside. Then came the dumplings: the shrimp and pork soup dumplings. The wrappers were delicate yet sturdy, and the filling juicy.

For mains, we tried the pork chop over rice with fried egg and minced pork. The pork chop was tender and somewhat sweet. Different from other pork chop dishes I’ve tried before. The seasoned minced pork and egg tied it all together. The flounder with sour pickled cabbage rice noodle soup was light on the tanginess. I wish the flavor was stronger and more impactful, but it was more on the light and hearty side. The Sichuan beef noodle soup is a must if you like heat – spicy, aromatic, and loaded with tender beef and soft noodles.

We also ordered three desserts: the mango pomelo sago was refreshing and fragrant, my favorite. The black sticky rice with coconut milk and mango was good, however I wish there were more mango slices. The ice jelly with brown sugar was a favorite with my in-laws. Light, cool, and the perfect finish after the spicy dishes. A little pricey for each dessert though ($8).

Every dish had bold, balanced flavors and felt thoughtfully prepared. Between the amazing food, quick service, modern ambiance, this spot truly stands out. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes!

Every dish we tried was great, so we’ll continue returning to eventually eat the entire menu to find favorites.

Don’t come expecting standard American Chinese restaurant fare.

Also, familiarize yourself with the look of the numbing peppercorn so you don’t accidentally bite down on one and stun yourself with the full mouth numbing experience as one of my companions inadvertently did.

The noodle dishes (scallion chicken, leg quarter) were excellent, and I’d go back in the future just to try additional noodle dishes. The scallion pancakes were fried a little hard for my liking, while the soup dumplings and dumplings were fine but not outstanding.

Finally, Yu Noodles has opened in Columbia, MD! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and there’s plenty of parking. Today I ordered the xiao long bao—just as The Washington Post described, absolutely delicious! The soup bursts with flavor the moment you take a bite. I also tried some small side dishes and the fish noodle soup—everything was excellent. Great service, too!

A hidden gem that won’t be for long!

We fell in love with the one in Northern Virginia, so excited that this has opened in Columbia!

Delicious and authentic soup dumplings, dim sum, and noodle dishes, in a low-key affordable package. As good if not better than Peter Chang, especially for the price.

You can’t go wrong with any of the dumplings, but our absolute favorite is the Yibin spicy dry noodles with minced pork. It’s the perfect amount of heat and savory umami. Also love the moist and savory peppercorn and spicy chicken app as well as the pork chop side, which is seasoned and flavored to perfection.

And I always need some sesame balls with red bean paste for dessert.
